Dragon Puppet Entry! TW:Mild gore +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ This one took me quicker than expected, only 3-5 hours. This Cobalt, or Princess Cobalt. I have had her in existence for a while, and many design changes. her original name was Cosmos, but I changed it to Cobalt after I changed her design. This is my original idea since 5th grade. +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ She is one of the dragons I gave a dramatic backstory. +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ If you can guess what the symbols and mini random drawings mean on the concept art, that's cool! +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Things I like: -Low-key everything +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Things I dislike: -I kind of made a rip on the one side, but the scratch helped cover it up. +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Things I used: -Printer paper(the design) -Pen(outline) -Black cardstock(double layering) -Tape(where glue didn't work) -Glue(where I needed thing to stick) -Paint pen(eyes) -Alcohol markers(eyes and ear) -Cereal box(teeth) -Watercolor paper(tongue) -Watercolors(scratch and mouth) -White paint(patch ups and teeth) -Colored pencil(scratch) -Regular pencil(sketch) +------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ Her backstory: TW:Dark: Cobalt was so close to being perfect, but missed the mark. A snow-crystal dragon is a dragon who had not a dash of colors, event the eyes are white, but Cobalt had her eyes colored and small scales under her eyes, that's where her name came from. She was born to Queen Comet and King Asteroid, her brother, Prince Lake, always stole all the attention he was very handsome and had all the popularity. Cobalt was fine with this, she didn't need the fame or attention. Some didn't even know she existed. She would be picked on(mostly by Lake). Cobalt had one friend, Lapis. Lapis and Cobalt were the best of friends. One night the two decided to go out and explore, they had stumbled into the territory of the kingdom's enemy in war. This area was dangerous, there were infected(controlled) dragons anywhere. Before they knew it, a dragon had jumped out at them. The dragon chased the two through the woods, scratching Cobalt on the face and hurting her leg, Lapis had tried to fight the dragon and protect Cobalt, but they both ended up running. Eventually the two lost the dragon and were in an open field. Cobalt saw the Lapis's wounds, they were bad. Cobalt begged Lapis not to d!e, but there was nothing she could do, Lapis was d3ad. Cobalt was found, but that damage had been done, Lapis was d3ad and Cobalt couldn't speak. Cobalt could, but wouldn't even write what had happened. Cobalt was picked on more and more by Lake, but she couldn't do anything. Cobalt was alone, with her friend d3ad, and believed it was all her fault.
I think Cobalt was pretty easy to do because she lacked a lot of color, she was also tiny compared to some of my other dragon puppets, but I think I did good, and I also don't think anyone has done something like this. Cobalt had also been on my to-do list for a REALLY long time. It would be so ironic and symbolic if I got second place because in Cobat's lore she was "So close to perfect, but missed the mark" and that's what second place basically is.
