Proposals for the star port and building to house the Dominling personnel are rushed through the bureaucracy, and construction starts within just 30 days. As the building is being built, engineers and architects are looking outside to see what the workers have built so far, and change their plans continually, such is the speed at which it is being built. The 2 projects are being built next to each other, so Dominlings have ease of access. It is built on the outskirts of the Eastern part of the city, very near the beginning of one of the massive highway and train systems. Additionally, the Department of Energy has begun installation of the new anti-matter generators, and laid the groundwork for construction of the advanced nuclear power plants. On top of that, the Department of Recreation has begun construction of a large park near the spaceport and Dominling housing area, which is split in 2, with a monument in the center of them of a phoenix. One side of it was sculpted by a Chicagoan, and the other by a Dominling, putting the sculpture by the human in the Dominling part and vise versa. The complex is estimated to be operational in May, and completed in July. Next on the agenda is the installation of the Anti-Reality-Warp stations. They are installed on the edge of the current New Chicago as fast as possible, initially the temporary versions but soon after the permanent ones. Next, using the buffer, we send out a scouting party of sorts, who leapfrog their way into what used to be Chicago. They identify ideal places to set up more stations, and map the area. The former city is all but gone, almost completely rubble. Only the shells of the sturdiest buildings remain. No further action has yet to be taken, out of caution to see how the Katabasis will react to this mission. (Yes mused that’s your cue) Meanwhile, the various departments have been saving resources so they can be quickly turned into buildings once the Department of Defense indicates that it is safe for colonists. A terraforming project is also being planned, as if you’re gonna start your city over, might as well do it on as ideal conditions as you can get, right? Ideas of an economic alliance are readily accepted, as Chicagoan officials recognize the value of being able to export resources into the vast Dominion empire, ranging from many light years to earth, to Australia and Argentina. Similarly, New Chicago is eager to get a space program going, seeing as asteroid mining missions, which would send probes to an asteroid, then push it into earth orbit for deconstruction, could bring in lots of raw resources that currently must be completely imported from outside New Chicago.
