You are A Square, and after returning from your travels with A Sphere, have just proclaimed the presence of a third dimension. Well good thing that's legal! Wait a minute -- Now you are stuck in a room and everyone is entering, trying to finish you off. How long will you last? You may want to seriously consider running this on Turbowarp. This is shockingly heavy! But maybe that’s what I get for using raytracing and giving the Triangle two large booleans. Use this link: https://turbowarp.org/1318761193 Use the WASD keys to move. Use the J and L keys to rotate. Your job is simple: Survive! There is no fighting back. Disclaimer: In the book it’s illegal for shapes to color their sides. But you probably don’t want to spend the time to figure out what is trying to pierce you by looking at how its sides fade into the dark rather than just by looking at its color. Disclaimer: In the book it’s illegal for houses to be shaped like squares and triangles, and it is implied rectangles are banned as well. But the room you’re in isn’t pentagonal because 1. It makes the coding more complicated, and 2. It reduces the play area. Disclaimer: In the book only isosceles triangles do combat. But just having isosceles triangles attack you is boring for straightforward reasons. Most gameplay mechanics are ready! In the enemy department, we have the Triangle, which chases you directly, and the Rectangle, which charges like a bull but doesn’t turn when you move out of the way. Score and more enemies are coming later, and possibly SFX.
This is loosely inspired by @Za-Chary’s Global Warning, but I am hoping to do a proper remix of that game later. As the title says, it is based on Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions by Edwin Abbott Abbott.
