The Truth By: Anne ________________ Hermione dropped the certificate, watching it flutter to the ground. Her head was starting to spin. Her real dad was the darkest wizard of all time? Hermione ran all the way to her room, grabbing everything important she owned and stuffing them into her only suitcase. She glanced around her room one more time and raced downstairs and out the door. A fresh breeze of cold air whipped Hermione’s hair around. A lock of shiny black hair flew into her face. Hold on, black hair? Hermione grabbed a thick lock of her hair and gasped as silky black hair fell through her fingers. Hermione quickly took out her wand and stuck her right hand forward, her wand gripped tightly. The Knight Bus zoomed into her vision so fast, she stumbled back a bit. A scraggly man opened the sliding doors and looked around. Hermione stepped forward and put a face of boredom on, masking any signs of shock, or any other emotions. “I’m Hermione G-Granger.” Hermione said, kicking herself inwardly for stuttering on her last name. Once she was inside the Knight Bus, she quickly sat down on one of the beds, taking her wand out again. She transfigured a pillow into a hand mirror, not caring if she used magic outside of school, and peered at herself. She gasped again, turning her head so she could look at every detail that changed. She no longer had the bushy, frizzy brown plain hair. It was replaced as silky, straight, long, and slightly curly and the ends of each black strand. Her complexion was milky white, and her cheekbones were emphasized naturally. Her eyes kept changing color for some reason, but it was staying more purple. Her eyes were still big but her eyelashes were longer than before. Her clothes also felt a bit loose now. Hermione glanced down and realized she was taller, and slimmer. The bus suddenly jerked to a stop, making Hermione lurch forward. “Diagon Alley!” A squeaky voice announced. Hermione sighed and grabbed her bag from the floor. ~~~~ Hermione didn’t know where to go. She was standing in the middle of Diagon Alley, her eyes wandering over the shops. She fingered the necklace that her parents gave her on her 10th birthday. It was the one of the only good memories that she kept with her. It was a silver locket, with initials engraved on the front. She suddenly realized what the initials were. She took the locket from under her shirt and looked at it. Engraved on it was: T. M. R. D.I.J. Tom Marvolo Riddle and Danna Isabella Jones! She opened the locket and a bright light came over her. Hermione cried out and promptly passed out. ~~~~
