Due to the very high casualty rate (around 70%, with a quarter to half of them dead) during the amphibious assault, Aurelian soldiers find themselves unable to advance, due to heavy resistance, especially a lack of supply, and a numerical superiority of Nakh fighters. Soldiers find themselves stuck on the beaches without support from any artillery, supply, or vehicles, with every boat being hit by white phosphorus shell shortly after the door drops, which blinds and injures men, allowing machine guns to have free kills. Guerilla fighters additionally begin to prepare, but aren't in the fight yet, while coastal defenses are activated in all places but the large boreal forest in the middle, which instead has guerilla fighters who can activate.
