After joining the Anti-Berlin coalition and improving relations with Poland and Austria, the government of Czechoslovakia decided to start the so-called "Thaw". This means the legalization of the official opposition, a reduction in executions, and a partial opening of the borders with Austria and Poland. Of course, Czechoslovakia is still a dictatorship, but now it is possible to live there peacefully, without worrying that at any moment you might be shot for some made-up reason.
