STARTING A SCENE Every post needs: → Time of day (dawn, sunhigh, moonrise) → Weather/location (bamboo forest, nursery, stream-path) → Your character's immediate action ❌ "Riley walked around." ✅ "Dawn broke gray through the bamboo. Riley sat at the base of the oldest stalk, tail curled, listening to the stream beyond camp." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ? ENTERING A SCENE → [OPEN] scenes: Jump in! Introduce yourself clearly. → [ASK FIRST] scenes: Comment "Mind if [character] joins?" and WAIT for response. → [CLOSED] scenes: Do not enter. Start your own thread instead. How to start threads. for example "NT is new thread is comment limit reached, CRP is closed RP where you CANNOT join in. ORP is an Open RP but you must ask to join if someone else already joined ❌ Walking into a private conversation uninvited. ✅ "Riley padded over from the fresh-kill pile. LEAVING A SCENE (The Big One) If you need to stop: → Have your character exit in-character → Add OOC note so others aren't waiting ❌ Vanishing mid-conversation forever. ✅ "'I need to check the nursery,' Riley murmured, turning away. 'We'll finish this at sunhigh.' OOC: Gotta go! Back tomorrow ^^" If someone leaves: WAIT 24 hours before assuming the scene is dead. Then close it yourself and move on. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⏳ TAKING TURNS → Post, then WAIT for others to respond → Don't skip ahead in time without checking → If a scene has 3+ cats, go in order (A posts, B responds, C responds, A again) ❌ Riley speaks, StarStream replies, Riley immediately leaves camp forever before StarStream can react. ✅ Give every cat a breath to exist. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ? IC vs OOC → In-character (IC): Riley hates Nobleheart. That's drama. Good. → Out-of-character (OOC): YOU dislike the player. That's a problem. "Hate the cat, not the owner" means: → Insult the character: "You're a fox-hearted traitor." → NEVER insult the person: "You're annoying and your RP sucks." Disagreement stays in the story. Respect stays real. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ second word is your favorite insect ━━━━━━━━━━━━ ? ASKING PERMISSION Some things need approval: → Moving another player's character even slightly ("Nobleheart followed Riley" — did they agree?) → Injuring another cat → Major plot events (darkness attacks, prophecies, deaths) → Taking kits out of nursery When in doubt: Ask in OOC first. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚠️ COMMON MISTAKES → Kits walking/talking like apprentices at birth → Warriors healing themselves instantly → Characters knowing info they didn't witness → Solo border crossings without patrol → Leaving threads without closure ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ?
