Your Gold Fades Away: Keep your gold, To yourself. I don't need, Anything else. Water dripping, From leaf to leaf. Everlasting grief. A world filled with colors; Muted through my eyes. From sunrise to sunset, Your gold fades away.
This poem was based off of a Robert Frost poem I like called 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' which I'll put below. I really liked the style and meanings I took from the poem, so I decided to write a poem in a similar style based off it. 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' -Robert Frost Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.
