I rush over to the guy, the guy who’s about to probably kill my friend. “Please.” I gasp. “What?” He gives me a frown. Confused. “Please, don’t beat him up.” I gasp again. He shakes his head. “No, he was a jerk.” I look away, hiding my tears and quickly wiping them away. “Please.” I sigh, still looking away. “No.” He ruffles his hair and opens his locker, shuts it and walks away. Without thinking, I grab his arm. He instantly freezes, smirking. “Please? Anything, just don’t hurt Charlie.” I squeak, scared. This guy, Joshua, was known to beat people up and to be the strongest guy in our whole school, oh gosh. I let go of his arm, realizing it was still there. “Okay, for you though. There’s one thing though, you know as a… negotiation?” “Thanks so much, Joshua!” I exclaim, smiling. “So… what’s the favour?” He instantly smirks. “Alright, meet me at the ice cream shop down the road after school.” And then, he walks away. I ran after him. “But I have… Charlie.” I stammer. He smirks. “I know. He’s your Romeo.” He chuckles and stares at me. “... No. No, it’s not like that.” I say, even though I question myself. Charlie’s… mine. Mine. People always say that they think we’re together. But we’re not. “Right.” He shakes his head, chuckling. I ran to my next class. We had English, fairly easy. And I get to sit next to Charlie. “Hey.” I smile at him as I sit down. “Hey.” He grumbles, staring at the table. “What’s the matter?” I place my bag on the floor and sit up, staring at him. “Why were you with him?” He says rudely. “Who?” I ask, almost scared for some reason. “Joshua. So, why? I saw you crying.” Was he jealous? Oh my gosh, Charlie was jealous… and great he saw me crying. “Oh I had to ask him something.” Charlie’s face fell, oh no I said it like that. “Oh what, so you want to hang out with him now?” His eyes become teary and he looks away quickly. “No it’s not like that… I promise, Charlie.” I place my hand on his. He looks down at it and grins, then hides it and looks away from my hand. “Sure.” He groans and looks out the window. “Tell me what you had to ask him then.” “Okay, fine.” I pause and scooch closer so he can hear me and notice him staring into the fields outside.. “I made him stop the fight, it’s so stupid. I don’t want any of you guys hurt, it’s brutal. Sorry for getting involved, I just… didn’t want you to get hurt I guess.” He slowly moves his eyes to mine and we sit in silence, staring. “Settle down!” The teacher shouts and I snap out of it. I blush and face the front, ignoring Charlie’s stare on me. “Charlie? Would you like to answer this?” The teacher glares at him. I was paying attention, he was staring at me… again. “Uhh.” He blushes and looks at the teacher. “Metaphor.” I whisper. He raises his eyebrows and puts a thumbs up under the table so the teacher can’t see. “Oh, Miss, it's a metaphor.” He says confidently and the teacher raises her eyebrows. “Correct, Charlie. Make sure you listen next time and not get your girlfriend to help you.” I blush and look down. “We aren’t-” “No thank you, Evelyn. Right class, let's do some more questions.” She continues with the rest of the class. I see my friend, Amellie smiling at me. I give her a glare. She giggles and looks at the front. When class is finished, it’s finally break. I stick with Charlie so Joshua doesn’t hurt him. We sit together at a table and eat in silence. “I’m sorry, Charlie. I shouldn’t have gotten involved.” I stare at my shoes. “Thanks to you, I don’t have my face bashed in. I should say sorry… so I’m sorry Evelyn.” I nod and look up. He places his hand on mine and I jump, surprised. He looks embarrassed and pulls it off mine. ”It’s… It’s okay.” I say, blushing. He nods and slowly breathes in. “You okay?” I ask him, worried. He’s gone pale. “No.” He croaks and rushes out of the cafeteria. ____ That's all! hope u like this new storyyy!!
