So, before I continue, I DO want to include other dragons, but i'd like to prioritize the odd ones. No complaining about how a drake would've been cooler or how a wyvern would've been cooler or a western dragon or a lung dragon or literally any other kind of dragon would've been cooler. Including lindwurms. Anyway... Wyrms! Not to be confused with worms, wyrms can be found only within wyrm roosts, where they live amongst their hoard of shiny objects, namely, coins, metals, gems, and barrels/chests full of the stuff. Mimics cannot be found here, but infested coins can be, along with treasure bugs in chests. When you first enter, the wyrm will be asleep, but the more noise you make, the more likely it is to awaken. When it wakes up, it becomes infuriated that someone has broken into its home, and a rage bar will appear on the top of your screen. Yes, a rage bar, not a health bar, as it is a chief mob, and similarly to the cruncher from Species, you can actually befriend the wyrm, but unlike in species, you can also choose to kill it and get a prize. You can lower the rage bar in two different ways. It lowers on its own as it uses fire based attacks, but you can also cool it with splash potions of water, snowballs, and other cold projectiles. If you fully cool the rage bar, the wyrm will be calmed and only become angry again if you break any blocks in it's roost or open any containers, similar to piglins. Calm wyrms heal over time, and can also be interacted with. When you interact with them, this will bring up a menu with 2 out of 4 random options. These options are in enchanting table language. There's also a slot for an item. If you have a draconic knowledge book on you, you will instead see the true versions of the options! There's Gift you Gift me Trade Fix Gift you will give an item to the wyrm if it is in the slot, this increases trust. Gift me will give you an item if the slot is empty. This lowers trust. Trade will swap the item in the slot with a new one. This increases trust. Fix will fix any item in the slot, and also has a chance to enchant it with a specifically wyrm-only enchant, such as flame burst on maces. Opening the menu will also cause a bit of dialogue to appear on the screen, which is also in enchanting table language. There are several different types of dialogue depending on how much the wyrm trusts you, or if you're a new person, and even for certain items in your inventory. Your relationship with the wyrm can be the following types, in order of worst to best. - hatred, the wyrm hates you and is much quicker to become enraged. - contentious, the wyrm dislikes you and will not give gifts. It also will not fix. - neutral, the wyrm is neutral. - acquaintances, the wyrm thinks positively of you and will give better gifts and trades. - friends, the wyrm really likes you and will give even better gifts and trades, as well as better enchants when fixing. - best friends, the wyrm cherishes you as a close friend and will treat others, even hated people, better if you are there. ------------------------------ But what if you wanted to kill the wyrm? Well, it will drop wyrm scales! Wyrm scales can make a few decorative blocks, and they have a block set, but most importantly, they can make a wyrm dagger, which can be thrown like a trident, except it pierces through mobs. It has almost all the same enchants, and is the only item which can get wyrm enchants from a table. if you have any wyrm based items in your inventory, calm wyrms will lower your reputation for every tick you have them on you. Also, the draconic knowledge book can only be traded by high level librarians, but it can also be sold by monster hunters rarely. oh, and wyrms can swim through coin blocks. This isn't clear in the doodle, but it can. If it shoots coin blocks with fire projectiles, they melt into raw versions of metal blocks, which it can also swim through. Wyrms don't mind if you break raw metal blocks, that's actually the only blocks they are fine with you breaking.
