Blistering hot flames burning every remnant of Herobrine’s life to the earthy ground. His entire population had fled in fear of the great peril that loomed upon them, but he had stayed behind to face the danger and save the overworld. Herobrine was part of a race known as the Ancient Builders, who were very powerful and constructed many of the structures that populate this cubic world. They also housed the incredible power to create organic life. The overworld was a peaceful haven of inventiveness and artistry… until a power-hungry shadow with red eyes known only as Entity 303 waged war on the Ancient Builders, wishing to gain their abilities. Now, eighty cycles later, Herobrine was attempting to vanquish this great evil. A skull burning with pale blue soul flames came hurling toward Herobrine, and he quickly ducked behind the remains of an ornate and shining quartz structure. The Wither is nearby, he thought. The Wither was a creature made by Entity 303, its only goal to destroy and kill. It was a flying monster that resembled a ribcage with three heads. The flames from the skull licked his shirt as it shot by, flying five times faster than a ghast fireball. He was relieved he was in the plains biome, for the fiery explosion would have surely eliminated an entire forest. Herobrine heard a strange VVVWIP sound behind him. He hastily whipped around, and came face to face with a strange ink-black creature that had long limbs and glowing purple eyes. For a half second, Herobrine just stood there, as the creature's face gave him déjà vu. It suddenly became enraged, as if it had a painful reminder of its past. Herobrine hastily drew out his enchanted diamond sword, and swung it at the creature. It vanished just as quickly as it appeared. Herobrine faltered, as he expected to hit something. It appeared behind him and swiftly punched him in the back. Herobrine fell to the ground, and the slender creature readied to destroy him. He grabbed his sword and used it to shield himself, the creature’s fist meeting the blade’s edge with a CLANG! Herobrine had unimaginable strength, but the tall and slender human-like being was a challenging opponent. Herobrine’s arms burned like soul fire under the crushing weight of the monster’s square fist. It can’t end here, Herobrine thought. The diamond sword shattered. A blow from the purple-eyed creature would end him. Time seemed to slow as Herobrine imagined the sheer scale of destruction Entity 303 could accomplish if the last Ancient Builder perished. It won’t end here, Herobrine thought, snapping back to reality. He speedily rolled to the right, the creature’s fist making contact with the grass and dirt. Herobrine was a Proeliumnis, a type of Ancient Builder known for immense power and strength. They were most commonly known, however, for their glowing white eyes. Proeliumnis were very rare, and Herobrine was the only one alive even before the rest of the Builders fled. Herobrine’s eyes shined especially bright, and he stabbed the creature with the broken sword. The amount of thrust that went into the bash killed the monster, it disappearing in a puff of smoke. The slender being dropped a strange turquoise pearl, and Herobrine cautiously picked it up. The pearl changed colors depending on the angle you observed it, and it was almost squishy. Weird, he thought. Suddenly, an army of silhouette-like creatures surrounded Herobrine, all of them sporting distorted-looking spears. Oh, shulker. Shadows, Herobrine mused. “Could it be… the last Ancient Builder? For a second I was starting to worry you met the same fate as the others. Then I wouldn’t be able to take your Proelliumnis energy,” a silhouette- like being mocked as he appeared through a glitching portal. “I don’t know what fate you’re talking about, 303,” Herobrine said through gritted teeth. “That’s not important. Anyway, I’ve been waiting a long time for this. In case you’re wondering, you are surrounded by glitch spears. A slight touch and your atoms will slowly decompose until there is nothing left of yourself except a mindless form that I have full control over. I see you also have an ender pearl! An added bonus. Any last words?” Entity 303 asked. “Never mind. I don’t want to listen to your stupid threats. Umbra, corrupt him.” And with those words, the shadows closed around Herobrine, and the strongest looking one swiftly stabbed him in the stomach.
