Lucaes Alexandar Carmicheal lost his dad at 7 years old. His dad’s name was Jordan, and he was in the Navy. There was a bad storm, and the entire ship sank. Almost everyone on board died. Lucaes has been living with just his mom since. His mom, Mia, has done everything she could since, to give him a good childhood. The only thing Lucaes has left of his dad, is the dogtags he gave to one of the few who survived, telling them to give the tags to his son. Lucaes never takes them off, never. Lucaes has trouble remembering what happened in the years when his dad was alive, and right after he died. That year after he was gone, is just a blur to Lucaes. The year Lucaes turned 8… feels… off… to him. He changed a lot at 8. He switched schools, and changed a lot about himself. He’s always figured it was to deal with his loss, and hasn’t thought much else about it. He doesn’t like to think about those years, it hurts too much. Lucaes is now 14, and starting high school. And… he’s realizing it’s not all it’s cut out to be. He’s not a very athletic person, but he’s very smart.Lucaes lives in a small town, which only has one high school. There are multiple elementary and middle schools, but only one high school. Lucaes has a few problems though. Number one? He was homeschooled through middle school and junior high. Which means he has grown apart from some of the “popular” friends he had in elementary, who are now pretty much the coolest kids in high school. Number 2? He has an enemy already. During the first day of school, Lucaes met Emmeline Vance. Emmeline is everything he wants to be seen as to most. Shy, quiet, understanding, and calm. Lucaes is like that to his family and close friends, but most see him as hot-headed, and bold. He hasn’t played a sport since Little League baseball, so most just see him as someone who tries to fit in with the “jocks” but isn’t really one of them. Emmeline hates Lucaes for being fiery, and Lucaes hates her for how quiet and calm she is, and because she hates him. Lucaes has no clue how he’s going to make it through high school if he made an enemy on the first day, and since he has almost no friends. He has some close-knit friends, who are seen as “jocks” among most, but are actually pretty normal. They play sports because they’re good at them, but they aren’t really sports people. His friends like art, music, reading, and writing. Lucaes loves history, cooking and baking. But, he’s also a gifted artist. When it comes to drawing at least. Ask him to paint something, and you’ll end up with at least a gallon's worth of paint spilled on the floor, three paintbrushes broken, and paint water spilled all over the floor. But, he can draw people, animals, and objects beautifully. Lucaes has to navigate high school, and his life is about to change with this new section of his life.
