Ultrasound on Silver [] Today, I brought first time mother, Silver, into Flowery Field's clinic for ultrasounds. I gave her my hand, gentle petting her on the side of her face. She seemed to accept this at first, but spooked. I backed up towards the wall and she calmed down. I let her smell my hand and arm and then placed my hand on her belly under her front leg and ran it down to her flank so she wouldn't be suprised when I placed my hand on her hip. I walked around her, and grabbed the ultrasound. I got it safely where it should be and checked around for a foal. Almost immediately, I saw a healthy one. It is not far enough devolped for me to know it's gender, but what I do know is that it has a very healthy heart. Medical Notes- Silver is doing great! She definetly has the protective spirit a mare would have over her foal, but this early on, before even preparing for foaling or late in pregnancy, it is a signal that she will likely be a great mother! She definetly will be a bit anxious or nervous, and keeping her stress free is important. During later months of pregnancy, or nearing her due date, be sure to keep a closer eye on her. Being a first time mother, complications will definetly be more common, such as diffuculty foaling, rejection, and more, but I don't think rejection will be on the list seeing how strongly she is showing early signs of protective behaviour. as for the foal, it is doing great! It seems to be devolping very well and you have no conserns to worry about as of right now. ______________ Credits- Rider [] @Smelator Horse [] @_evergreen_and_hills Silver is owned by @PineHavenFan and should not be used by any one else.
