Name: Candle Gender: Female Backstory: Candle was the only daughter of Maya, the first queen of the land. She didn't always have wings. When she was a kit, she was very adventurous, creative, and most of all, curious. She would always find herself in a spot she couldn't get out of. One day she was fascinated by a bird in flight and she knew from that day on she wanted wings. She traveled for a long time away from her homeland to complete her quest. Before she did, however, she recieved news that a plague had come around her homeland and her mother was very ill. She traveled as fast as she could home, but it was too late. Torn by grief and pain, and now being sick herself, she locked herself in her quarters and didn't speak to anyone for a long, long time. One day, a mage came to the castle asking for an audience with the queen. Candle refused to see her until the mage promised her any wish she could want. Candle, miserable because she thought she had failed her mother, finally decided to see the mage. The mage wore a long dark cloak and had a strange humpback appearance. She wore a dying rose on a string around her neck. She offered Candle the wings she always wanted in place of the mage becoming queen. Candle paused, then decided she hadn't been a very good queen lately and started quizzing the mage on what she would do in various situations. Finally, Candle agreed to the trade. She would have wings, and the mage would be queen. The mage very slowly took off her cape to reveal that she had wings herself. She explained that she could only get rid of the curse if someone else agreed to take it on. Candle agreed, and promised that she would take the wings. They were both enveloped in light and when the light dispersed the mage no longer had wings, and Candle had them. The dying rose was no longer the mage's, but it was placed on Candle's ear. They parted ways and Candle is living somewhere in the clouds.... ...To be continued if I get her :)
