This is a project that shows how meiosis works. This is not an exact replica, as the end results of meiosis actually makes 23 chromosones. Vocab: Chromosone: a thread-like structure made of protein and a single molecule of DNA that carries genomic information "crossing over": the exchange of genetic material between non-sister chromatids of homologous chromosomes during meiosis, resulting in new combinations of alleles in the gametes Homologus: pairs of matching chromosomes in a diploid cell chromatid: one of the two identical halves of a replicated chromosome haploid: a cell or organism that has a single set of unpaired chromosomes (n), containing half the total genetic material of a normal body cell
This was originally for a project, but I decided to keep it posted so anyone can learn it! You are welcome :) Credits: Intro sound: Picker wheel "ta da" Music: Strad by C418 Graphics: Me
