Neuvellon has begun efforts to fully transition to clean and nuclear energy. In Ordonnance N° 2028-182 of the 15th of May, Neuvellon would begin efforts to fully transition to nuclear and clean energy, building on previous laws such as Ordonnance N° 2000-285, which aimed to reduce emissions and required filters to be installed on all equipment that used fossil fuels. This is in cooperation with the electric utility Électricité de Neuvellon and the energy conglomerate TotalEnergies SE to support Neuvellon's transition to clean energy. TotalEnergies is pledging to reduce imported and domestically mined natural gas and other fossil fuels. Automobile companies such as Renault S.A and Stellantis N.V. have also begun transitioning to producing more electric vehicles, with government incentives and bonuses. Analysts currently project Neuvellon to go completely clean by at least 2050, with lower estimates being around 2035 and higher estimates reaching 2070, with at least the civilian sector being fully clean by around 2040. The Neuvellonian Armed Forces have also requested military contractors to begin researching and producing specialized batteries and engines for military vehicles. Most vehicles utilize at least a hybrid system. Critics of the campaign have argued that either fossil fuels are too ingrained in multiple industries to completely phasing out their usage or have highlighted the possible dangers of nuclear technology. Many of its supporters have fought back, arguing it's only a matter of choosing whether to save the planet from climate catastrophe or to continue on the current path. That nuclear isn't as dangerous as they cite, that the mortality rate only appears within the very few incidents. The primary environmentalist party, The Ecologists, has shown disapproval, with much of the party disagreeing on the argument on nuclear. This view has garnered massive public backlash and resulted in lower popularity within the party. Much of the public and certain environmentalist groups actually fully support the law, praising it as a great step towards a cleaner Neuvellon.
