It scared Russelpaw. I could tell. Russelpaw started running back to camp. I put an invisible force field on him to protect him in case he ran into a dog. Just in case. I heard that the dog was far away from the camp so I think he’d make it back without being hurt. I heard the bark again. It was closer this time. My wings stretched and green markings glowed on my body. Time to fight. The dog ran through the trees. I flew out of its range. Jaws snapped around the air. I landed on the ground. “Fight me.” I said. The dog rushed at me. Amateur move. I ducked and sidestepped it, clawing the dog down its side and a bit of the underbelly. Blood spewed from the wound coating me in blood. It still fought. The dog tried grabbing at my throat. I flew up and landed on its back. My teeth sunk into its neck. Not enough to kill it though. Enough to injure it badly and make it scared. As a Listener, I feed off of strong emotions such as fear and anger. Eating normal food will fill me, but I still feel a bit hungry. As a bonus, feeding on emotions fills my hunger more than food does and fills me for a longer period of time. Listeners don’t feast off of negative emotions as much as Watchers do though. I sensed fear from the dog. I fed on it. I leapt forward with new energy. The dog jumped to try to avoid my attack. I anticipated it. My claws sliced through the underbelly. Blood was everywhere. My pelt dripped in it. The dog was dead though. I drank its blood for a bit. I always liked the taste of blood. I got rid of the body afterwards. I then hid my green markings and wings before walking towards the FlameClan camp. I wondered how they would react as I was still drenched in blood. I started planning what I would do for tonight's training session. I walked into the FlameClan camp. Eyes stared at me. Russelpaw shouted, “Oh my StarClan, are you ok?” “What even happened?” Moonflame asked. “We need to get Sorrelclaw to check you out.” Brackentail’s concerned voice said. “I’m fine. This isn’t my blood.” I responded. “Whose is it then?” Sandstripe questioned. I said, "It's a dog’s blood. It tastes pretty good. I need to wash it off though.” “Are you injured then?” Silverfeather asked. Of course my friends were concerned for me. “As I said, I’m fine. No injuries on me. The dog was unlucky though.” I said as I walked towards my den. “At least let Sorrelclaw check you. Please.” Russelpaw begged. “Okay.” I responded heading towards the medicine cat’s den. “Can I come with you?” Russelpaw asked. “Yes. You can come with me kiddo.” I said. Russelpaw’s eyes lit up. His parents had died soon after he was born from attacks on FlameClan. Sorrelclaw took one look at me and had me laying down in an instant. The medicine cat checked me for injuries, which there were none of, while Russelpaw watched. Sorrelclaw then started to clean the blood off of my fur. I soon fell asleep. I woke up during the night yet again. I silently left the Clan camp. Walking into a clearing, I spread out my wings. They needed to be preened and cleaned as they had some blood on them. I cleaned my wings first and then preened them. I reentered the camp pretty quickly. Back in the medicine cat’s den, I fell asleep. I woke up to the sound of talking. Recognizing Cometstar’s and Sorrelclaw’s voices, I got up and went to see what they were talking about. I stopped by the entrance of the den. “I had gone out to gather some herbs when I found this.” Sorrelclaw said. He dropped a black feather and nudged it towards Cometstar. “Is this important?” Cometstar asked, staring at the feather. I looked at the feather for a moment. It was one of mine. How did Sorrelclaw find it? And where? “Yes. It seems to be one of the feathers the cat from the visions has. I found it by the lake.” Sorrelclaw said. That answered my question. I must have lost one at some point and the wind carried it to the lake. “Can we trace it back to who lost it?” Cometstar questioned. “No. The feather was in the lake so the scent was washed off.” Sorrelclaw responded. “I also had another vision last night. It was the same cat with wings and green markings. They were walking alongside the green creature. Another cat walked with them with a purple creature beside them. The other cat also had wings but instead had purple markings. The purple creature and the green creature looked almost the same except for their colors. Each seems to have different symbols though. I heard one word repeated from both creatures. Runaways they said.” “Can you draw these symbols?” Cometstar asked, concern in his voice. Sorrelclaw immediately responded, “Yes.” He started drawing in the dirt. “This was the green creature’s symbol.” Sorrelclaw pointed to the Listener symbol. “This was the purple creature’s symbol.” He pointed to the Watcher symbol. I didn’t hear the rest of their conversation. Someone in this dimension was a Runaway Watcher.
