Hello, I am The-Empress . I'm Autistic. I'm Disabled and I'm proud. This is the disability pride flag. It was redesigned by American disability rights activist, Ann Magill in 2020. It was proposed as a sensory safe alternative to the original zigzag design created in 2019. it is a very powerful symbol, and I wanted to share it's origin and symbolism. Green = sensory disabilities, such as Deafness, Blindness and sensory processing disorders Blue = mental illness and psychiatric disabilities, such as bipolar disorder, anxiety and DID White = invisible disabilities, such as autism, learning disabilities and HoH White = undiagnosed disabilities Yellow = neurodiversity, examples including; Dyslexia, Tourettes, autism and ADHD Red = physical disabilities including; scoliosis, limb differences, paralysis and dyspraxia Charcoal/black = remembrance of victims of ableist violence and abuse The diagonal stripes represents cutting across the barriers the Disabled community face and the parallel lines represent solidarity. Hope you learned something! Have a good day :D
