Barugon stumbled backwards in an instant. The scorching blast of fire had shocked him to his very core. Yet he didn't bother to scan the area, as he wasn't going to waste his energy. He tried to spray the skies, but another fireball struck the sinful beast. Barugon tried his best to minimize the damage, but even his tough hide was unable to stand the intense heat of every burst. Finally, he lashed at the air with his tongue, and bumped into an airborne object. But it wasn't a jet or some news helicopter. It was almost as big as he was. A giant shell. Being propelled by divine flames. Barugon couldn't understand. What was this thing? How did it attack him? And that was when the shell came to a stop, vertically descending. As the smoke billowed from the ground, arms and legs slowly emerged. And from the cloud... another monster. In the form of a turtle. But this one had no ill intent. No, he had the absolute opposite. This was Gamera, the Guardian. The Warrior of God. And he was here to stop the sluggish creature's rampage. Barugon backed up, trying to get some distance between them, but Gamera did not relent. He charged forward, uppercutting his foe with as much might as he could muster. Barugon responded with a powerful shove, and snarled. Gamera tried to charge again, but Barugon wasn't mindless- he was intelligent. He had already assumed Gamera's tactics and pushed him away again. He then followed with a freezing spray, coating Gamera in ice, and even slowing him. He then attempted to do the bare minimum and cut them with his horn, before Gamera broke free and tried to pick him up. But Barugon was too heavy. This opened the door for another blast of frost, this time slowing Gamera down even more, so Barugon could shove him away again. Luckily, Gamera was smart too. He stepped back, and now the two were far away from each other. Barugon tried to freeze Gamera again, but he couldn't reach. Gamera, on the other hand, was able to reach with charged blasts of fire. Barugon stumbled back, reeling in pain. Gamera continued his attack, making sure to keep distance in mind. He knew his opponent was slow, and he could stay safe. But the monster wasn't done yet. He hunched to the ground... and his spikes began to glow. Gamera tried to halt the process, but it was to no avail. And then.... Barugon revealed his most devastating ability. A rainbow arose from his back, tearing the skies and reaching precisely towards Gamera. He tried to dodge, but it was too fast. The rainbow of death scorched and overwhelmed him, making him stumble towards Barugon's striking range. Barugon seized the opportunity, knocked Gamera into the sea nearby, and encased Gamera in a tomb of ice. He then turned to slowly finish what he had started, consuming more energy rather than spending it. It seemed as though the only chance at hope was gone... Yet Gamera, even in his seal, remained determined. He began to heat his own body, and the ice melted. Barugon turned in disbelief, and went to strike. But Gamera dodged the strike, and rammed the slothful beast into the water. Barugon tried to run back to land, but Gamera blasted him with a jet of raw, yet concentrated fire. Then, when he went to freeze them, Gamera grabbed onto his tongue. Barugon panicked, and fired a rainbow directly at Gamera. The Guardian withstood the pain, and pulled and pulled, until... He slightly, yet fatally pulled apart Barugon's insides. The monster went still for a moment, then limp. His body crashed to Earth, and didn't recover. He was slain. Gamera shook off what ice was now coating him, and roared. Not out of pride, but out of relief. His battle was finally over. But one thing was left to do. He took the body, and safely dragged it for hours, to where it came from. He pushed the corpse into the hole, and watched as the body fell. He could rest at last...
