The fictional F-15JK+ represents the bleeding edge of the F-15 Eagle's iconic air superiority role. It boasts enhanced maneuverability and electronic capabilities in order to assist its pilot in gaining the edge in a long or medium air-to-air combat scenario. However, implementation of its canard system comes at the expense of its internal cannon, limiting the Kai Plus to missile weaponry. The Fiction (F-15NJ): In alternate-history artwork, the F-15NJ is depicted as a carrier-capable, navalized version of the F-15 Eagle modified for the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF). It features folding wings, a tailhook, and specialized anti-ship loadouts for carrier operations. The Reality (Mitsubishi F-15J): In the real world, Japan operates the F-15J and F-15DJ. Built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries under license from McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing), these are strictly land-based air superiority fighters used by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF).
