In the current year of 2050, The Republic of Portugal has launched an invasion against Galicia. The casus belli for the is in order to restore Galicia and make it have a central government, under Portugal of course. Most of this invasion had little difficulty due to Galicia's mostly plain terrain, so sending around 3,500 soldiers (around a quarter of the army's population), the south-west of Galicia was steamrolled through. However conquering the south-east was a different story. Due to it's mountainous terrain, we had to loop over it to take control, along with airstrikes. So now as of currently, the South of Galicia has been conquered by Portugal, and we are planning on invading the rest very soon.
This invasion was quite well-received by most of the Portuguese public, however those who were suspicious during the tax increase and militarisation did not take this lightly, people would take to the streets in peaceful protests, with very little turn-up. These people will most likely remain a minority in Portugal for a long time.
