Ok there’s a lot to explain but whatever SPOILERS!1!1! 1. In the intro, there’s that retro sound effect that plays, but it’s not just a sound effect, that’s the sound effect that plays when Mario loses a life (in the actual game) so it foreshadows that Mario would take bf’s last life and bf then would’ve died, which in my opinion is a GREAT Easter egg 2. At the end of act one, I thought gf was falling through the tube, until I realized she was getting pulled away by Mario, which again, is foreshadowing what happens to gf in Act 3, which just makes it darker, (also this might just be a headcanon but we can see that gf wore the crown in act 3, which is most likely peach’s, so maybe peach died and Mario claimed gf as the new princess?) 3. In acts 3-4, bf actually starts looking terrified and desperate, but the only reason for that is cause Mario took gf away from him, so that makes me wonder what would of happened if he never found out what happened to gf, but at the same time that just ruins the plot of the mod 4. In act 4 somewhere in the middle of it, when bf is standing there absolutely heart-broken from what he witnessed, you can see two memories of him and gf, except the first one is just both of them before all stars act 3, where as the second one is resembling what Mario turned gf into, and how boyfriend is extremely p!55ed because Mario took away his love 5. Something about the ending just tickles my brain, you can actually see how much desperation and anger is in boyfriend’s face, and literally he is fighting for the sake of his friends’ survival, which just makes it even more brutal 6. At the very end of the song, you can see how boyfriend was impaled by something idk, but you also see the life counter thing hit 0, and the game over logo appear in the middle of the screen, BUT HERE’S THE THING, if I’m correct, in the classic Mario game, there is an option for P2 (player 2) which would be Luigi in that case, but in this case, if I’m correct, the only other survivor that wasn’t killed yet was Pico, meaning that he’s their only hope to escape, idk maybe pico didn’t survive and I just didn’t remember 7. The last sad notes at the end of the song just hit so hard, knowing that boyfriend died and lost his final life, those notes just make the mood feel hopeless and like this was the finale, which makes it so much more emotional and brutal The audio in this project is all stars, so you can check for what I mean on some of my reasons anyways yeah go listen to it or idk
