A xenogender is a nonbinary gender identity that cannot be defined using traditional human understandings of "masculinity" or "femininity." Instead, individuals describe their gender through metaphors, concepts, or characteristics of things like animals, plants, objects, or aesthetics (e.g., catgender, stargender, or cloudegender).
