After reaching the outskirts of Madrid, troops would begin preparing for a siege. As we can only reach the city from one side, we will attempt to encircle it. Field guns will begin shelling their defences in hopes of damaging some of them, air strikes will also be conducted to try to help with this, and light infantry and scouts will probe defences in search of blind spots and weaknesses in defences. After this, troops will attempt to break through while being aided by CAS. In the event the initial offensives are successful, armoured units will be moved up to these new positions, and while the enemy is hopefully retreating, they will attempt to close off the encirclement rapidly, being followed closely behind by infantry to secure the land. Field guns will then also be moved to these positions, and large-scale shelling will begin for a few hours, hopefully reducing morale and whittling away at defences. like always, we will use tanks to try to punch through the initial defences in the suburbs, if that works, then infantry will then pour in and try to defeat the remaining enemies and then clear secured blocks of remaining resistance. This tactic will be used to try to slowly clear away enemy troops and force them inwards Once we have hopefully beaten the resistance in the suburbs and the enemy has been pushed into the more urban centres, we will resort to more traditional tactics, fighting house to house for every inch of land. After sluggish, brutal and casualty-heavy combat, the city will hopefully fall. As for the pocket in the north, mountaneers will attempt to slowly advance through the mountainous terrain while being supported by reconnaissance drones to help them target where they should attack and advance through, while also having CAS helping them.
