✧ the golden hour ⊱ a warrior cats roleplay ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ welcome to the golden hour! this is a guide of everything you need to know about one of the clans, caveclan! please read it fully if you plan on signing up for caveclan. <3 ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ basic history !! caveclan was founded seasons ago by a quiet she-cat named hollowstar. after a devastating leaf-bare brought her clan into a terrible state, she decided to band a group of survivors together for a journey. together they trekked after wildstar and wildclan in search of shelter. while other cats feared the dark tunnels and underground caves, hollowstar welcomed them, teaching her cats to value and cherish the darkness. unlike clans formed around open land or river, caveclan was born from necessity and secrecy. early members took refuge in a vast underground network of natural caves and hollowed stone tunnels. overtime, they learnt to shape the tunnels into a comfortable place to live, making safe paths, reinforcing unstable ceilings, and mapping hidden routes only trusted cats could learn. this is guaranteed to be the truth, as caveclan cats strongly value their history. this tale has been passed down for generations... ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ territory !! caveclan lives in a sprawling labyrinth of rocky caves, underground rivers, narrow tunnels, and echoing chambers carved by rushing water. some passages are tight and winding, forcing cats to move single-file. others, however, open into ginormous caverns where entire patrols can gather without touching a wall. glowing fungi and crystals rich in minerals line parts of the deeper tunnels, casting faint and eerie glows that caveclan cats have learned to navigate by. in darker areas, scent markers, scratch codes and memorised landmarks are essential for safe navigation. their camp is within a massive centre cavern known as the hollowheart, where the ceiling arches high above. a slow underground stream runs through one side of the cavern, providing water and fish-like cave prey. narrow ledges and carved-out crannies serve as dens. ceremonies are held atop the echoledge, a climbable raised stone formation. prey includes cave fish, blind amphibians (frogs, etc), bats, insects, moles and other creatures that wander into their caves. predators include foxes, large birds (both surface), rival clan intruders and natural hazards like collapses, toxic gas and sudden flooding. ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ their cats !! caveclan cats tend to have lean, agile builds suited for climbing, squeezing through narrow passages and navigating unstable terrain. their bodies are often wiry rather than bulky, better for precision and balance than brute strength. their coats are usually dark or muted in colour; charcoal, soot-grey, deep brown, and black. occasionally, however, pale or mottled cats can be spotted. many develop slightly larger eyes or heightened senses over generations, helping them adapt to life in near darkness. their expressions are subtle yet sharp, with narrow-eyed, calculating stares and quiet, knowing smirks. caveclan cats are known for seeming a few moves ahead, or perhaps already silently critiquing your every plan. adornment in caveclan is minimal and practical. decorations are uncommon and often serve a practical purpose, like polished stones as navigation markers or small bone charms used to distinguish ranks or tunnel routes. excessive decoration is usually considered impractial, though not strictly forbidden. just silently judged. + cont in n&c
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ conduct !! caveclan cats are often serious, observant and sometimes even dryly sarcastic, especially in stressful situations. humour is usually subtle and quick-witted, occasionally used as a way to cope in stressful situations. outsiders often mistake them for cold or detached, but caveclan simply prioritises clarity over emotion when survival is in the question. they are highly strategic and rarely act without considering multiple outcomes. planning, risk assessment and spatial awareness are second nature to them. silence is common, and often preferred when travelling through tunnels to stay alert to changes in their surroundings. trust is earned slowly and guarded carefully. while caveclan cats are loyal once bonds are formed, they are deeply cautious about outsiders and even the other clans. betrayal is remembered for seasons, sometimes even literally recorded in hidden tunnel markings if severe. despite their seriousness, caveclan cats are very cooperative. surviving underground takes teamwork, and even the most sarcastic warrior won't think twice about risking their life to stop a tunnel collapse from trapping their clanmates. ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ skills !! navigation is the most vital skill in caveclan. cats are trained from a young age to memorise tunnel layouts, recognise subtle changes in their surroundings and mentally map entire cave systems without relying on visual landmarks. stealth and silence are key. navigating tunnels means taking careful steps, keeping noise to a minimum and staying mindful of how sound carries. experienced caveclan hunters can slip through total darkness without giving away their presence to prey or foes. climbing and balance are key, especially when dealing with uneven stone surfaces, narrow ledges and steep shafts. apprentices quickly pick up the skills to scale walls, land safely and navigate shaky terrain without causing collapses. tracking scents underground is tricky, so caveclan cats depend more on air currents, changes in temperature, disturbed dust and the echoes of sound rather than the traditional tracking methods. listening and echo interpretation are highly developed skills. many caveclan warriors can judge distance, track movement and even gauge object size just by picking up on subtle echoes in the tunnels. endurance in darkness is both physical and mental strength. spending long periods of time underground takes composure, resistance to disorientation and the ability to stay calm in tight or pitch-black spaces where panic can be dangerous. ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ that wraps it up for caveclan! i really appreciate that you went through all that as it took me a long, long time to write it all. law here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1321681496/
