✧ the golden hour ⊱ a warrior cats roleplay ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ welcome to the golden hour! this is a guide of everything you need to know about one of the clans, splashclan! please read it fully if you plan on signing up for splashclan. <3 ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ basic history !! splashclan was founded generations ago by a group of former loners, river-dwellers and kittypets who were drawn together by a she-cat named ripple. she believed the rivers were not obstacles, but paths meant to be lived in harmony with. unlike many early clans that formed around conflict or exile, splashclan began more like a refuge. stray cats who were skilled at swimming, fishing or just tired of land-based issues gradually joined together along the riverbanks. overtime, with help from wildstar, they developed their own traditions centred around water, trust and community. from the beginning, splashclan placed great importance on cooperation. cats learned quickly that survival in fast currents and unpredictable flooding depended on mutual trust and communication. this makes splashclan unusually open-hearted compared to the other clans. ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ territory !! splashclan territory is marked by a sprawling river network that winds its way through forests, wetlands and wide, shallow marshes. the land is lush and vibrant, filled with reeds, lily-covered pools, soft riverbanks and winding streams connecting much of the territory. the rivers range from calm, clear waters to fast-moving currents that can become dangerous during storms or heavy rain. small islands, sandbars and fallen logs create natural bridges across the waterways. many routes still require swimming, however. their camp sits on a broad river island surrounded by gentle currents. willow trees and tall reeds offer shelter, while smooth stones create natural gathering spots along the shore. dens are tucked into root hollows, nestled among reed clusters or hidden in partially submerged log shelters. clan meetings take place on a large, flat rock by the river called the driftstone. splashclan territory is teeming with fish, amphibians, and other water-loving prey. it's in fact one of the most plentiful hunting grounds when conditions are right! common prey includes fish, frogs, water voles, aquatic birds and small mammals along the riverbanks. common predators include foxes, large birds of prey, badgers, aggressive water-dwellers and dangerous flooding currents in storms. ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ their cats !! splashclan cats are often sleek, strong swimmers with water-resistant pelts and strong, well-muscled limbs. many sport webbed toes or broader paws that make it easier to glide through the water. their coats are smooth and glossy, usually ranging from soft greys and warm browns to vivid calicos and mottled patterns. known for their flair and love of adornment, they often wear flowers, ribbons, shells, river stones, woven reeds or dyed feathers as personal accessories. in splashclan, fashion and expressing oneself are extremely important. cats proudly customise their looks and exchange decorations as tokens of friendship or affection. + cont in n&c
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ conduct !! splashclan cats are friendly, trusting and openly affectionate. they tend to assume the best in others unless given a good reason not to, and value honesty and kindness within their clan. they're often cheerful and social, enjoying gathering, storytelling and shared activities along the riverbank. outsiders sometimes mistake their openness for naivety, but splashclan cats are deeply connected to one another and capable of defending themselves when needed. the trait splashclan values most is trust. a cat who breaks trust is deeply frowned upon, as cooperation is essential for survival in their watery enviroment. ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ skills !! swimming is the most important skill in splashclan. cats are trained from a young age to move confidently through currents, dive for prey, and cross rivers safely even in difficult conditions. fishing is another essential skill. splashclan warriors learn patience, timing and precision when catching fish or river prey. it's common for cats to develope unique techniques suited to different water depths and speeds. balance is highly valued due to slippery riverbanks, floating logs. many splashclan cats can move gracefully across unstable surfaces without hesitation. tracking via scent is somewhat less relied upon than in the forest-based clans, as water can wash away scent trails. instead, splashclan cats often track movement through ripples, broken reeds, disturbed water patterns or pawprints in wet mud. stealth is less emphasized but still important near hunting areas. skilled splashclan hunters can remain nearly invisible while partially submerged or hidden among reeds. swimming endurance and breath control are especially important during flood seasons, when strong currents can make even short crossings dangerous. ⊱ ────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ────── ⊰ that wraps it up for splashclan! i really appreciate that you went through all that as it took me a long, long time to write it all. even longer than the others, as i had to continue it in the n&c!! law here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1321683297/
