Crow shifted, nestling himself further into the comfort of his mother's moss nest. "Mom?" He looked up at her. "Where's Sparrow?" His mother's eyes settled on the clearing outside. "Your father is talking to her, little bird." Crow's heart sank and dread settled over him. If his father was speaking to her, he was sure that it was bad. A few moments later, his father walked into the den, Sparrow training behind him. "Now that that has been settled, I must speak with you Crow." Crow nodded and got up. He watched as Sparrow, her tail dragging on the floor, took her place next to their mother. Crow followed his father outside. As soon as they were out of the den, Crow's father took him aside. "Crow, you and your sister are two very different cats. Your mother and I think it's best if we keep you separated when you begin your training." Crow looked at him, unable to process his emotions. 'And by Your mother and I, you mean you!' he wanted to scream. But he didn't. That's what his father wants, for him to be angry. To be like him. "I-I understand." Crow stammered. His father scowled at his stutter, but let him go. "Run along then. Your training begins soon." Crow drags his feet as he returns to the nursery. His mother sent him a sympathetic look. So she did know. "Why don't you just stop him?" Crow asks her, not enjoying the sound of anger in his voice. His mother's shoulders slump. "I would if I could, Crow, but your father, he is our leader. He has power over us, he can exile us. I'm sorry, dearest." Sparrow walks up beside him, wrapping her tail around him. "It's ok," she mewed quietly, trying to convince herself as much as him. "We can make it through this, together. We're siblings, after all."
Ik it's short, but I wanted to end it with that line soooo
