YUHHH SO YEAH
script! lines due: June 12th ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' Kiki: So… Yeah. Lydia: You really do? Kiki: Yeah, totally. Who wouldn’t? You’re so pretty and smart and gorgeous and beautiful and… Did I say ethereal yet? Narrator: You’re probably wondering what you’re hearing right now. This is Kiki… Kiki: Sup. Narrator: And this is Lydia. Lydia: Hola! I’ve been brushing up on my Spanish. Narrator: And they’re meant to be!... Well, they are, it just might not seem like it. Yet. Kiki: (sad) Mom, I don’t wanna go to a boarding school! I– I’m gonna have to make new friends, learn a new seating arrangement, eat a new, probably concerning, lunch everyday… *Sigh*, I’m gonna be the new kid all over again. Michelle: Kiki, I’m sorry but this is what has to be done. You’re failing. Kiki: I’ll get my grades up! I promise. Grades will be up by.. Next week. A week! Short time, straight A’s! Michelle: You’re already signed up for Hazelwood and you were accepted. There’s no going back now, Kiki. Kiki: But– Michelle: I know, it’s hard. It’s only what’s best for you. You know I would never try to take your school or friends away. Narrator: Kiki is struggling with the news her mom had just delivered: a new boarding school Kiki would be shipped off to… In 3 days. Lydia: Do I have to? I mean, I know I don’t have many friends, but I’ll miss the ones I do have. Jamie: Of course! We want you to get into a good college… Like Harvard. And to do that, you need to go to a great school. Lydia: What if I don’t wanna go to Harvard? Jamie: How else will you become an amazing doctor? Lydia: I don’t wanna be a doctor, though. Jamie: You want money, don’t you? Lydia: I guess. But isn’t happiness more important than money? Money can’t buy happiness, right? Jamie: Wrong. As your mother, I think you should be a doctor. Narrator: Obviously, Lydia doesn’t wanna be a doctor. … Narrator: Three days later, the time had come. Kiki had finished packing her bags, and was about to leave for the next 180 days. Kiki: You’re completely sure I have to? Michelle: Yes, Kiki… Kiki: Fine. Bye, love you. Michelle: Love you. Make sure you follow the map so you can get to the train station. Kiki: Okay, okay. Narrator: And there Kiki went. Following the map, to the train station that would take her hours away from home to the boarding school she’d been dreading. Lydia: You’re sure I have to go? Jamie: 100 percent. Lydia: Okay… But… Can my friend come? Jamie: Nathan? Lydia: Yep! Jamie: I don’t know… Narrator: (confused) It was then that Nathan… Popped out of behind the bush..? Nathan: Pleeeeaaaase? Ms. Clark, you know how much time Lydia and I spend together. What’s 180 days? Jamie: Goodness gracious! Lydia: His mom is okay with it… So can my mom be? Jamie: Alright, just go. Stay safe. Love you, Lydia! Lydia: Love you. Narrator: Lydia shut the door. Nathan: (happy) I can’t believe your mom let me go with you! Lydia: I mean, even if she didn’t, it was the school and your mom’s choice. Nathan: True, but she could’ve separated us entirely… Lydia: That’s the school’s job to either keep us together or separate us. Do you even know how boarding school works?! (laughing) Nathan: No, not really. (chuckle) Lydia: That’s alright. I didn’t either until I stayed up all night researching. Nathan: I just really hope we get to be roommates. I don’t wanna be roommates with some random kid that hates me. Lydia: Well, me neither. I wouldn't think anybody really wants that. Nathan: I guess that’s true. Lydia: Welp, I hear the train. Nathan: You’re going by train? Lydia: Yeah. Nathan: I’m getting driven there. Lydia: You are? Lucky. I have to take a rickety old train that’s been here since like, the 1800s. Nathan: Oof. Good luck on that one. Lydia: Thanks… Narrator: Come back for chapter 2 of Kiki & Lydia, coming out soon!
