After I brought Winter Solace home, we decided to warm up before riding with a short lunging session in the round pen. She started off fresh and energetic, but settled into a steady rhythm after a few circles at the walk and trot. We worked on smooth transitions (which she was great at!) and practiced keeping a calm, balanced pace before we ended the session. Afterwards, I untacked her and let her cool off, before giving her a treat, and plenty of praise for doing so well during the session.
