Albinism is a genetic mutation that prevents the formation of melanin (the pigment that gives color to skin, hair, and eyes). Albino cats often have a misconception that their eyes are pink. Which is not true their eyes are always blue. Cats may have failing eyesight and/or hearing. They are more susceptible to sunburns and skin cancer. Many are born deaf or blind as well.
