"No. You KNOW how to roast squirrels properly, Caddisfly. Quit trying to distract me." "But books are booooooooooooooooring," Caddisfly wailed. She flopped down onto the stone floor. "Come help meeeeeeeee! We never get to hang out!" "Because I'm smarter than you, and I have a better school, so I have more homework," Cinder pointed out. Her twin sister was always like this, loud and annoying and pestered her EVERY MOMENT. Caddisfly began to breathe loudly through her teeth. Cinder flexed her claws, irritated. That was one of her biggest pet peeves. Caddisfly did it whenever she couldn't get Cinder to do something. It was INFURIATING. "All right, FINE," she growled. "But only if you promise not to even ENTER MY ROOM for the rest of the day!" "Yay!" Caddisfly said, hopping to her feet and bouncing out the door. "I promise!" / Great. Just great. / Cinder said, gliding down from the ledge she slept on. She glanced down at her talons as she landed with a THUD. She probably wasn't hurt, but she always checked, just to be safe. Suddenly, everything around her flashed. Spatters of blood appeared on her talons. Lightning sharp pain shot through her wings. But she blinked and it was gone. The doorway in front of her seemed to fuzz out. But everything stopped. Her heart pounded in her chest. Cinder shook herself and walked out of the room.
