this is gonna take so long to make and i cant make black and white maps, i suck at those
progress ; 1% FOREST ; The air hums with a crisp, petrichor-y scent and it couldn't be more calm here. The birds sing with all their glory and the sun shines through the canopy, and at last as spring arrives, the riverbeds are no longer frozen over, but the weather is still cool, and the water is even better. It is all the way south in the map and a little west, too. MEADOW ; The air fiercely whooshes past in a breathtaking manner, the hares bounce along the grass and the birds stop to forage, and even small pronghorn to-be mothers have migrated here in hopes to raise ungulates safely. Two riverbeds wind through here-- Freshwater creek, a large stream of water reaching shoulder-deep for most medium-sized wildcats, salmon like to travel through here in their breeding season and minnows love hiding beneath the creek stones. So much prey lingers here, it might as well crawl into a wildcats claws. The other river is a much smaller, branchy river that barely reaches above a cat's ankle bones. It's good to drink from, sure, but it isn't fish-worthy. It winds through the southern part of the meadow and leads into the forest. The meadow is in the very center of the map and stretches for miles. MOUNTAINS ; It's very north-east of the meadows, always snowing and usually a little colder than the other areas. Only mountain goats, birds, wolverines, and snowshoe hares lower in the mountains live up here. The snow is usually crunchy. But, rivers do start here as they erode the mountains. The ground is rocky and rough, but not enough to cut paw pads. The rivers actually get pretty deep, and at flatter areas you can swim in the rivers, and at the very start sometimes there's small ponds. Many fish like trout are in the mountains, surprisingly.
