Infinite Archery Game - Click the Green Flag to Begin. Put your mouse (or finger) down left of the Bow and Drag it back to the point where you want to shoot, but your Archer will only release the Bow String if the Arrow Head is ahead (right) of the Bow! The further back you drag the String the faster the Arrow shoots! I've tried to make it as simple and realistic as possible, however one major reality "stretch" is the fact that the Archer's upper right arm is like Elastigirl's arms!?? SCORING: Each Level needs the Level number of Target Hits to zap the Target. A Hit is worth 1 point, but only if you didn't have more than 5 misses in a row before you got the Hit. You always get a bonus of the Level Number points when the Target is zapped, regardless of how many misses you had trying to get through that Level! The Target gets Smaller and moves Faster each Level However from Level 20 on, at which point the Target is 20% of its original size, it doesn't get any smaller but it does keep getting faster. For the Record my best Score is 919 which I achieved on completing Level 30. If I hadn't missed points for having more than 5 misses in a Row 11 times, I could have got 930! The Game only ends when you decide to stop playing! ENJOY! TIP for those of you who've bothered to read all this ... Once it gets above Level 14 the Target moves too fast for you to be able to hit it consistently with a fast shot. However, if you fire your Arrow softly it hangs around long enough for the fast moving target to hit the Arrow, provided of course you time the Arrow release well.
Created by @gregatku for use in Coding Classes for Kids Unlimited, for whom I work as a Coding teacher. This project was the result of asking a group of kids in one of my Coding classes, what sort of project would they like to make next? One kid had the idea for a multi-level Archery game, where there's a moving target and as you progress through the Levels the target moves faster and becomes harder to hit, and you have to hit it more times before it gets zapped. The other kids in the class loved the idea, so this is it! All Code and Costumes (except the Ball target) by me. I won't get my students to create the whole project and I will give them all the costumes (whose Centres are strategically placed to simplify coding) and some of the code, but I will leave the coding of the String, Target, Arrow, & the Archer's (right) Arm as the main Student exercise, which I'll obviously help them with.
