Just a little symbolism for Alarm and infected Pringle (text wall warning): In the soundtrack 'Who Will Know' by Shiro Sagisu in the 2016 film 'Shin Godzilla' (シン・ゴジラ), there are two voices, a female and male voice. The female voice represents Godzilla's thoughts, and the male voice represents Godzilla's instincts to keep fighting on. What I'm trying to get at is Alarm is like the female voice; she wants to give up and is scared. Pringle is like the male voice; his body wants to continue on and survive, even though he's slowly rotting away and corrupted. He's a former shell of himself, reduced to a bloodthirsty creature.
