Eyestrain warning, especially on image #2 Click or any keys to go forward Yeah the world's been pretty messed up recently (I mean, it always is but it's been more obvious recently) and art is how I express my feelings so...here ya go. Placed in order of recency. I might be a bit vague about stuff because Scratch is picky and there are a lot of younger people on here and idk exactly what's appropriate. 1: Features a Florida scrub jay, an endangered species. There's currently a lawsuit underway regarding protection of their habitat, which could endanger both these incredible birds and many other endangered species around the US. The lawsuit is being filed by some tech bro idiot who wants to develop the land without paying a fine under the Endangered Species Act. I just hate how many people, particularly where I live (the US) are so focused on profit over literally anything else that they destroy the world that they're a part of for some stupid intangible concept. 2: My OC Aikoro, who in general is a bit of a vent character, with lyrics from "The Garden" by The Crane Wives. Nothing specific, just general anger at the state of the world and wanting to tear down all the bad things and bad people. 3. Featuring my OC Shezi, with the flag of her country, Reia'Kiali. American exceptionalism babyyyyy /sarc ORAS is in general an exploration of my feelings towards my country. This piece in particular is about the cognitive dissonance between how many people insist it's the best country in the world, and the reality of what it does, both to its own people and the world at large. So yeah :,) 4: idk how much I can or want to say about this one, other than that it was drawn on March 3rd of this year. Not everything's awful, there's still a lot of great and amazing stuff in the world, but sometimes it does feel like a lot and I just need to get it off my chest somehow.
