The dense ferns of the forest enclosure crunched underfoot as Nyx, a massive Giganotosaurus with a blue-gray base coat and a deep navy back, paced his territory. Purple spots dappled his massive flanks, and light blue stripes flared along his powerful legs as he turned his dark blue eyes toward the heavy steel paddock gates.A loud mechanical groan echoed through the artificial jungle as the enclosure gates slid open, and the park staff released what was meant to be his next meal. Expecting easy prey, Nyx growled, but out stepped Borealis, a female Nanuqsaurus thick with a fluffy white winter coat slashed by bold black stripes. Her icy, light blue eyes instantly locked onto the apex predator, showing zero fear despite her smaller size.Instead of turning to run, Borealis let out a piercing, guttural roar that shook the surrounding pines. Nyx lunged forward, closing the distance with terrifying speed, but the agile Nanuqsaurus darted sideways, avoiding his crushing jaws. She countered instantly, leaping forward to slash her thick claws across Nyx’s striped leg, tearing through his tough hide and leaving deep, bleeding gashes.Roaring in fury, Nyx whipped his massive tail around, catching Borealis squarely in the ribs and sending her crashing into a thick grove of trees. Borealis scrambled back to her feet, coughing up blood, her thick winter fur now stained a deep crimson. Fueled by survival instincts, she charged straight under Nyx's defensive line, burying her teeth deep into his blue-gray underbelly and tearing violently. Nyx thrashed in agony, finally clamping his immense jaws down onto Borealis's shoulder, crushing her thick winter coat and the flesh beneath it. The two titans collapsed into the mud, locked in a brutal stalemate of teeth and claws. By the time the panicked staff deployed heavy tranquilizer darts to separate them, both dinosaurs lay gasping for air in the trampled ferns, severely wounded, covered in deep lacerations, and painting the forest floor red.
