SNRP-Theory (Scratch Nation Roleplay) is the study of Nation Roleplays on Scratch. I don't know, don't take the title too seriously, it's partially a joke- Anyways, here are a few principles: 1. Every Roleplay needs a hook. What's that? It's something that draws people in. A unique concept. All RPs now are all the same, so it's just "Ooo, new RP! :D" 2. Every Roleplay should be built on chaos. The funnest part of them is conflict, so constant conflict and no peace. So, one thing you could do is make every nation multi-ethnic and make sure there isn't a clear border. If the map starts off with border disputes between RPers, that would be interesting. 3. A good community government is essential. Most RPs are basically dictatorships, with the owner controlling everything. Some are oligarchies, mostly studio RPs with many RPers. Some are democracies, like the 'Free Mapping Community', though that's not really a RP community. 4. There are two kinds of NRPs, map RPs and studio RPs. Studio RPs tend to have many projects over comment threads, they tend to focus more heavily on art. Map/comment RPs tend to focus more on how much you can talk about and how much you know. 5. They require rules, however, how much rules it up to you. Personally, I like stricter rules when it comes to community members, but some wiggle room for creativity.
Proposals: What if we had a cap on the amount of characters you can RP? What if we had strict regulations on who joined and whether they could RP in any other community/minimum activity? What if we had regulations for a project? What if people had to actually RP, instead of just RPing as their utopia fantasy or metagaming (I am guilty of both, but metagaming I mean a 1700s economist knowing modern economics).
