Well... It happened. The Erika animutation that has survived for three years (somehow) is fully removed from Scratch. For those of you who don't know, this animutation contained a really offensive war song related to WW2 Germany. I do not condone or support the actions of that group, nor do I fall under any particular community which may lean towards said group. This happened to be a one-off thing I made whilst I was young and uninformed about the original song's purpose. For those people who have not seen this animutation. The story mainly revolves around Freddy Fazbear and a bunch of other characters goofing around. And at the end, DanTDM destroys Freddy with his blue laser attack (think of it like a gaster blaster) and he disintegrates into a pile of ash. Outside of the unfortunate song choice, the animutation had nothing to do with said group For some context on why I made this project. A United Nations event was happening in my school back in 2023, where we had to cosplay a country of our choice. My country of choice is Germany, and I wanted to create an animutation to commemorate this event. I asked one of my classmates whom I trusted back then to choose a song, and he said to go with "Erika". Now at the time, I only saw of it as a german march song, so I took it for granted and started work on the animutation. I would finish it at around October, post it onto the animutation studio, and leave it as that. Now even after the event had fully finished and I move onto the year 2024, the project itself somehow blew up on it's own. I recall opening my Scratch and seeing many likes, favorites, and comments from that animutation. I even remember seeing my project as the first search result when you search up "Erika". Of course, the comments were either joking, trolling, or... downright malicious that I had to intervene and delete them. It wasn't until the search result for "Erika" was completely blacklisted on Scratch, and you could no longer search for this project I thought it would be the end for good. But just as I returned home from a family meeting, I opened my Scratch and saw that the "Erika" project was deleted by the Scratch Team themselves. I thought for the longest time, my project staying up meant that it didn't break any rules. But I guess the Scratch Team did not see this project until now.. To end off this essay, I apologize for creating an animutation which may have offended some people, or at least the Scratch team that deleted the project. I do not wish that this change gets reverted, and the project stays up on the Scratch site. But I will instead try to host the animutation onto my website. Purely for archival purposes and no other agenda stuff
