It’s my fanfic and I get to chose the ships I woke up earlier than Olly. I got into my yellow dress and glided up the stairs. It was still sunrise, and the air was cold and crisp. I walked inside the house and saw Father sitting at his desk, drinking a cup of coffee. He turned to me. “Good morning, Olivia,” he said softly. “Morning, Father,” I said, stretching. “Is Olly awake?” “Not yet.” I sat next to Father and watched him take a sip of his coffee. A thought popped up. “Father, do you have anyone?” I asked. He turned and looked at me funny. “What do you mean?” he asked. “You know, like how I have Bobby.” “Ohhhhh. You mean, like, am I dating anyone?” “Yeah!” I said. He laughed and drank his coffee again. “No, no I don’t. I’ve been alone for a while,” he replied. I thought for a second. “Why not?” “Well, I’m busy taking care of you and your brother,” he said, smiling at me. I smiled back. “Is there anyone you like?” “No, not really.” “What about the Oarsman? He’s nice.” Father coughed. “Um, I’m not sure I’ve met him before…” he said nervously. Suddenly Olly walked in. His hair was all messy and he was still in his pajamas.
“Hm? What’s happening?” he said groggily. My face lit up. “We should take Father to meet the Oarsman!” I exclaimed. “Why?” Olly asked. “So he can see how nice he is!” Olly put his hand on his chin and his face slowly lit up. “Good idea!” he said. I squealed and we ran off to get ready. “Wait, no-” I heard Father say, but I was already out the door. . . . “Come on! We’re almost to the tram!” I yelled, following Olly and pulling Father behind me. We pulled him into the tram as it started moving. An hour before, me and Olly had made Father wear a fancy suit and makeup. We also got him a bouquet of flowers to give to the Oarsman. “Guys, you really don’t need to do this. I-I’m fine with being single!” Father said nervously. I put a finger in front of his mouth. “Shush. Let us handle this,” I said seriously. He sighed. I stood by Olly. “Okay, let’s go over the plan,” Olly said. “Wait, there’s a pla-” “SHUSH. I SAID let us handle this,” I said again.
