The Machines continue to march onward, carving a path of destruction in their wake. Settlements across the land are crushed. Forests are felled. Lakes are drained. All is consumed to sate the Factory. Settlements that have not been reached yet have either retreated into deep, but risky hiding, or set out on an even riskier journey to reach the Last Safe Place in Pendia. The city standing at the end of the world. The Ivory Tower. Nowhere else possesses the defenses or the infrastructure to protect and support the entirety of Pendia. It will be extremely crowded, but it will be able to hold out for a little while. Long enough, it is hoped, that the Machines can be defeated. The greatest minds are working to develop a Kill Switch that, if uploaded directly into the Operator, will caused ALL the Machines to shut down. Progress is slow. There does exist another bunker. Deep below Spindlewood. But it seems it may not be safe for much longer... Even now, scouts arrive at the gates from time to time. Soon the Last Siege will begin.
