Thank GOD it’s finally done The first ref of 10+ ocs for my jjk parallel story fanfic thing that is my passion project A bit backstory about this: GOD I HATED THAT ENDING SO MUCH AND I WAS SO MAD FIGURING OUT THAT IT COULD’VE BEEN MORE HORROR LIKE??? We could have had so much more, and I HATE YUKO OZAWA LIKE GOD HOLY K DRAMA TRUE BEAUTY BACKSTORY GOD (she also looked better before her whole makeover thing, that hair and ajumma fashion sense is horrendous enough that I forgive Hana for that ugly ahh haircut). So being the overthinking person I am, decided to create OCs for this. It started out with my OC Mira (as me and my friend had a joke that she was in every universe) being added, then came Yingyue, then came Youngmi (who was originally named Hana but we don’t talk about that), Jin, Kira, etc. And plus I was interested in the idea of sorcerers from other countries (like Korea and China, and others). So yeah, and I watched Monogatari and that changed my life. So my story will be more psychological focused similar to Monogatari and all of my OCs’ cursed techniques represent their mental struggles. There’s also references to biblical stories and maybe Inferno (such as Yukiko and Haera basically being like Cain and Abel in a sense) So yeah that’s the extent of it. I need to talk about the actual character first. TW: Abuse and Neglect (I have a document that has lore too as this is a kids site at the end of the day) Haera Kang Mixed with Korean and Japanese Age: 16 ————— Haera was never meant to be born, she was accidental. Her mother decided to carry her to full term so her parents could be quiet about when she will get grandchildren. Her parents really should’ve never had children. Haera was named by her grandmother, who was the only person who really cared about her. Despite that, Haera was insulted by her mother and neglected by her father (also, she lives in Korea). She is also forced to get high grades and eventually a high paying job to help her parents when they get old, even if she doesn’t want to. School was worse, teachers never helped and her classmates bullied her (really to fuel their egos). All she wanted was a friend. When her grandmother died, Haera was completely alone. Her mother often told her to be grateful and yet, Haera couldn’t feel grateful. Haera’s self esteem is dangerously low to the point she feels sub human, and that feeling is deepened by a little incident. She once accidentally…detached her finger? She freaked out and went out into an alley and put it in a garbage can. Only to find it caused a small explosion. She went home thinking about it, was she really unnatural? Haera’s father eventually got sick of his wife so he took his daughter to go live with his in laws in Japan (and so he has someone to take care of Haera while he goes off and gambles). Haera all of a sudden feels out of place, since at least Korea was familiar. She didn’t know an ounce of Japanese, never interacted with the culture, and felt alien. She starts going to school and tries to reinvent herself by putting up a facade of being outgoing. But Haera gets bullied anyway and she goes back to being the “old Haera”. She goes back to being severely conscious about herself both inside and outside. Until Huiqing “Kira” Shimizu comes along. Kira is third year who is known for standing up for her underclassmen and is admired by a lot of students. Kira befriends Haera and the latter finally has the friend she desired. Kira eventually introduces Haera to Yuji Itadori, who is Haera’s age. Haera manages to meet Nobara and Megumi through him. Yet even though she has the friends (or acquaintances) she desired for so long, she longs for something more. Someone who understands her…and parents who care for her. That’s when she meets Fuyuko Kamishiro- er, Youngmi Kim (in Fuyuko’s body, and she will be explained in a later project). Youngmi notices Haera’s resemblance to her original body and someone else. Youngmi pretends to understand for Haera and acts like a doting and caring mother. Haera latches onto that and is manipulated into joining her. Youngmi eventually ditches Fuyuko’s body (so she’s back) and takes over Haera’s body (so for all of Shibuya, it’s Youngmi in Haera’s body). And she goes missing, which starts up a search for her by both the authorities and certain sorcerers. ————— Likes: - Sci-Fi - Fashion (she actually wants to be a fashion designer or model) - Helping out elderly (she likes how they’re not as judgmental) - System of a Down - Movies - Sewing Trivia: - A lot of her feelings of disconnection from her Japanese side is based on my feelings of disconnection from my Korean and Puerto Rican sides - She was originally named Si-Yeon and was meant to be the complete opposite except her dad died and she was all outgoing but secretly crazy - The idea for her cursed technique came from Reze - She sometimes uses stationary objects as weapons (because that pipe ain’t going to cut it) kinda like Hitagi
