In case you guys forgot Voidia won 2 wars against the Borg in PU, this gave it access to the idea of sub-space. This has ultimately led to Voidia planning to develop an artificial version of sub-space using the Dominion (marcias) "bubble between skin" effect. Other than that however Voidia has made advancements with much more advanced technology. Primarily thanks to Borg and the 2 wars fought against them, as it gave Voidia numerous destroyed but also numerous intact ships. However after careful searching and research it was realized that the Borgs abilities were shams. Their "adaptation" was simply switching frequencies and they used transwarp technology that would be vulnerable to sub-space distortions. Compared to the other races of the Galaxy, the Borg are effectively one of the least advanced civilizations out there! Even worse is the fact that they have ceased to forcefully assimilate technology which would likely have caused them to stagnate (having seemingly forgotten how to make their own science). Not to say it was useless though, Borg cybernetics were (KEY POINT ON THE PAST TENSE) superior to Voidian cybernetics, however in the end the eventual integration and improvement of this technology rendered Voidias own cybernetics vastly more superior. In other words the Borg have nothing left that would be useful to scavenge. While the gems are an interesting topic (as they are a trans galactic empire) to say gem technology is inferior would be an understatement. They might as well be in the same area as the Borg. Thus Voidia must develop its own technology, its own technology must be improved. The first technology to be improved is the phaser, a technology already well known in the galaxy. Phasers function by firing a beam/bolt of about 1 gram of neutral hydrogen. Voidian intends to inject trace amounts of antimatter into phasers. The weapon itself will anti-hydrogen. The exact ratio remains classified (spoiler: its a 1:10,000,000 ratio). Now one may wonder why the beam doesn't just destroy itself, well the kinetic energy of the weapon is astronomically larger then even the explosive power of the antimatter. Now admittedly if the majority of the particles annihilate then the beam even with its immense kinetic energy would destroy itself. Voidia knows it is statistically 100% that the annihilation will eventually happen, thus the anti-particles are simply dispersed across the beam which makes clumping less likely. This antimatter is produced in an onboard specially designed particle accelerator. Not only that but development into "warp skipping" torpedoes and beams have also begun. Of course such weapons would need to have a fast warp drive which standard warp drives can not do (it would take an hour for a warp 8 torpedo to get to a target a light year away) Voidia however plans to use a very similar (if not just out right copied version) of the dominions own warp drives. Now, warp skipping a phaser is a far harder shenanigan. Voidia also (fun fact) does not use dilithium in its antimatter reactors, I am tired of people acting like antimatter reactors are unstable bombs. In reality a good penning trap will absolutely keep antimatter in place. Voidia has developed far stronger magnets allowing for more power to be generated by the reactor. The heat produced by this technology is released via radiators and plasma vents. There have also been massive upgrades to command and control, trans-dimensional sensors, FTL communications, and drone and stealth technology.
Oh and if anyone is wondering how on earth I can prove that I can have the anti-phaser I did the math (look its literally just math T-T): first the lorentz factor. I cant exactly show the lorentz factor in a chat thing but long story short: y (y is taking the place of the symbol for the factor) = 1 over (divided by) 1-(v/c)^2 squared rooted. Using some math we find that the answer is 1.1547 Now, we calculate the Relativistic Kinetic Energy (E_k) of the1 gram of normal hydrogen payload using the speed of light (c=3.0*10^8 m/s): The equation will be E_k=(y-1)mc^2 this creates: (1.1547-1)*(10^-3 kg)*(3.0*10^8 m/s)^2 this creates: 0.1547*10^-3*(9.0*10^16) this makes = 1.392*10^13 joules which is 14 terajoules The antimatter payload is mixed at a (1:10,000,000) ratio, meaning the mass of the antihydrogen is 0.1 micrograms (10^-10 kg). When antimatter annihilates, it destroys its own mass plus an equal mass of normal matter, meaning the total mass converted to pure energy is 2*M_antimatter. Which is the fancy way of saying E=MC^2 basically (not the most accurate oversimplification) we get: (2*10^-10 kg) * (3.0 *10^8 m/s) We then make this: (2*10^-10) * (9.0 * 10^16) We get: 1.80 *10^7 joules which = 18.0 megajoules To prove that the beam can safely absorb in-flight pops without self-destructing, we compare the Total Moving Energy (Kinetic) to the Total Explosive Potential (Antimatter) we get: E_k/E_antimatter which is roughly = 139200000000000/18000000 = 730000 The beam’s forward kinetic momentum is 773,000 times more powerful than the entire antimatter payload's destructive potential. If a few thousand antihydrogen particles drift and pop in transit, they release a minuscule fraction of those 18 megajoules. Because the 14 terajoule kinetic stream carries an overwhelming energy surplus, it acts as a massive thermal sponge. The heat from the premature pops is completely swallowed by the forward momentum, proving that the beam is mathematically stable and physically bulletproof against self-destruction. Now admittedly, if every antiparticle exploded even though the forward energy momentum of the bolt is technically stronger at an astronomical level the sudden burst of gamma and plasma would destroy it. My point is that the over all amount of antimatters explosive capabilities isn't strong enough to destroy the beam if the antimatter is distrubuted Art is so buns bro.
