Moray and Crovia arrived on Sodor during the early years of the North Western Railway as trial locomotives to handle the rapidly increasing mainline traffic. Moray, a proud Caledonian Railway 191 Class 4-6-0 (formerly CR 194 and LMS 14622), was built for high-speed passenger operations, while Crovia, an LNER K3 Class 2-6-0 (No. 202), was a rugged mixed-traffic engine built for heavy freight. Upon arrival, both engines were repainted into a striking NWR Blue livery and granted bright red bandanas as sentient members of the fleet. Their early days were defined by a shared, uncompromising work ethic and a mutual disdain for inefficiency. While Moray brought heavy mechanical strength and a sharp impatience for delays, Crovia commanded the yards with a blunt demeanor hardened after a severe shunting accident left her with a deep, three-clawed scar across her left eye. Together, they established a strict hierarchy on the mainline loops and heavy goods paths. Their immense reliability and invaluable power eventually earned them permanent status on the railway, officially receiving their new fleet positions as NWR No. 28 and NWR No. 29. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ space and click for more ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ g for 98462's whistle h for 87546's whistle
