im going to start right now and be honest. this project is less constructive and more me venting my frustrations with the studio. i DO have thoughts on how to improve the studio, and i will briefly touch on them, but don't expect this to be a "theres issues, how do we fix it?" also, as per usual i will not be naming names. i dont trust this not to get reported or taken down, so i have a copy saved. okay now that thats out of the way lets start this. the gaehive recently had a week long closure, and it has allowed me time to think a lot about things within the studio. for some context, im in a separate studio outside of the hive, and its been a STRUGGLE to stop being treated like we are "bruzzlings 2.0." part of what got us in trouble was some trash talking on the offsite server, to a point where when it got leaked, almost everyone got rule 6 warned. THANKFULLY it got lifted, however all this came up again recently when it was revealed that popular members including some managers were trash talking within their own server. this has since been resolved mostly, though a few people havent apologized, but i am honestly still upset. you can't preach a "oh you cant do this but we can" attitude. it feels like the worst is always assumed at times (which is actually where this thumbnail comes up!) there was a post about sharing feet AS A JOKE, and a few people got really upset with us, and it was treated like we are trying to cause issues. its just frustrating when all people assume is that you are trying to cause harm. i think had communication been more clear, or had this hypocrisy not happened, a closure wouldnt have even been needed. now onto the closure, because i have thoughts on that as well. i KNOW scratch does not provide moderation tools, but that excuse can only go so far. if a studio is actively causing harm to children, and theres no way to stop that harm, it should be shut down, end of story. its a wonder to me that the hive has stayed open this long. ive seen people say "oh well people would just go to dbd, and their managers are inexperienced" but i disagree. dbds managers are GOOD at their job. they have faced harassment as well, and the studio is still functioning even better than gaehive at the moment. i TRULY think the gaehive needs to shut down, at the very least. when you have had sockpuppets who have hurt people, and even a manager whos caused harm, it is not enough to just rule 6 them and go on with your life. its giving them a platform to hurt more people. i dont really know, im just rambling. why do i think dbd works better? i think theres a difference in 2 things. 1. how the managers are viewed and act, and 2. studio interactions. within dbd the managers genuinely just feel like curators who have the added responsibility of managing the studio. on gaehive, managers and curators seem VERY seperate, and its annoying. for the second thing, there aren't a lot of studio wide events in the gaehive, unlike dbd. it prevents a studio from joining together in something, and i think that impacts the studio. + if im being honest, i have debated leaving the hive several times. however, i like my friends and the people ive met. ill post a more comprehensive project later im just tired. also im still mad about the whole trash talking thing, so bear with me. i just hate people being hypocritical. my actual rant is coming soon, keep an eye out.
art by me. this isnt to start a debate. this is a rant. feel free to debate me on the ACTUAL project im posting later. idc if you comment on this. or vent ur frustrations with the studio. please add other stuff in comments im forgetting stuff love you all - finny
