≿————- ♞ ————-≾ Cross Country with Whisper ! ≿————- ♞ ————-≾ I hadn't rode Whisper in a hot minute, and with Behind the Bit now finished, I decided to take her out for a run on the XC course! I chose to wear reflective gear so we're easier to spot if there are other people on the course. ≿————- ♞ ————-≾ I got her out of the stall, and brought her to the wash bay to give her a quick brush before we tacked up. Since she was in her stall - and thankfully wasn't rolling - she wasn't very dirty much. I gave her some fly spray since those flies are now coming out, and she was completely unbothered by it. I threw on our tack, and we headed out into the round pen. ≿————- ♞ ————-≾ Instead of free-lunging her, I decided to ride her around as a warm up, just to get back into the feel of riding her and being on a pony instead of a horse. ≿————- ♞ ————-≾ Once out on the course, she was a MACHINE. There was absolutely no hesitation at the jumps, and she did perfect. When we got to the water, she let out a few excited mini bucks and prances, but nothing flashy or dangerous. She listened to cues so well, and I'm just so proud of her! I'm hoping to enter her into some shows this season, and get her out in the field to try and win some ribbons. Cookie riding her and working with her has been really good for her, and she's built up muscles and lots of endurance and stamina. ≿————- ♞ ————-≾ Afterwards, I put her in her paddock and brought out her nightly grain. ≿————- ♞ ————-≾ Sorry guys, I have not done a real update like this in a while, so this is NOT the best.
