The floor was evenly coated in an inch or so of crystal-clear water, but the surrounding atmosphere was white. Empty. Yet it hummed like a machine. “We’re in the Spirit World. Spirits arrive here when they are dead but alive. When they are lost but found. When they have unfinished business in their lives that remain in need of completion.” “But I–” I tried, remembering the pain of my supposed fate all over again. “I’m dead! I’m gone from that world, that is why I am here, isn’t it?” Sonia pressed a soft, dainty finger to my lips to hush my distress. “Draconification is a process those in my time are only now beginning to unearth. Its secrets had been buried for a millennia before the Zonai had even walked the solid earth of Hyrule,” Sonia explained, our hands still intertwined in comfort and peace. “When you swallowed that secret stone, your body was transformed into that of an eternally living dragon. Your spirit, however, was separated from your body during that process, but it took a long time–this is why you were capable of visiting Link in the present, but those visits wore down your connection to your body over time. As of now, your spirit is nearly separated from your body entirely. If that occurs, you will be stuck in this realm for eternity. You will see souls and spirits pass and go from this life to the next. You will see them live and die, die and live, while you are trapped in a relentless whirlpool of insanity. You will rip your own hair out trying to hold on to the memories of those you love, and when you finally forget your own name, there will be no hope nor escape as long as your body lives on.” Sonia’s tone began to grow more terse by the line, so much so it frightened me to see her this way. She was so concerned that she was harsh. “Why are you still here?” My voice shook. Sonia settled herself. “I’m not sure. I’m guessing I have unfinished business. And I’d bet that business is you, Zelda.” “What about Rauru?” “I…” Sonia looked down in sorrow. “I have yet to find him. I’ve looked for ten thousand years and still can’t. It’s a miracle I even stumbled upon you. Perhaps he’s moved on…” “No,” I said sternly, “absolutely not. The love he carries for you couldn’t be broken, even by a thousand miles. I’ve seen it. I spoke to your grave every night. He cried to the moon, to the goddess, and pleaded to her for you to in some way return.” Sonia began to cry softly. “I can tell you right now that he is still looking for you.” “Thank you,” Sonia sobbed, trying to hide her tears. A moment passed. Spirits waltzed to and fro, from life and beyond and into the next. ଘ(੭´꒳`)°* ੈ‧₊˚ *ᵍᵃˢᵖ* ᶜᵒⁿᵗⁱⁿᵘᵉᵈ ᵇᵉˡᵒʷ! ᶜʰᵉᶜᵏ ⁱᵗ ᵒᵘᵗ!

First, you could move on. Inherit a new life beyond this existence, perhaps even meet another spirit you could spend your next life with. Or, you could permanently inhabit your new draconified body. Watch time pass. Watch your kingdom rise and fall. Watch over those you care about, and maybe, just maybe, you’ll regain control of your body over the years. But I cannot say for sure what the future holds.” I digested that. Meet someone. Someone to love. Someone to cherish, to spend my life with. But I already had that. The only face that appeared in my mind was– “Link,” I said suddenly, feeling a tug from somewhere in my headspace, followed by an involuntary pull at what felt like a heartstring. “Hm?” “Something’s…wrong,” I said, feeling my body tug at me again. “How can you tell?” Sonia said, her eyes growing wider with concern. “I don’t know, something’s not right, I–” My voice trembled, and a spike of pain shot through me like a strike from a mallet, and I wailed in agony. My head felt like it was melting, and my body was on fire. I stung like acid and was toxic like poison. Suddenly I was there. ℓιηк Ganondorf began to undergo some kind of transformation. He was coated in the same fiery gloom he had been before, only in thicker and more dense amounts. It coated him like a bodysuit, and he emerged like a moth out of its cocoon. His entire body was infested with gloom, glowing blood red–a color I was only too familiar with. “Enjoy these final moments,” Ganondorf threatened, a menacing grin finding its place upon his horrible, ugly face, “for I will be taking much more than your arm this time.” I couldn’t hold it in anymore. My vengeful side showed itself. It came out of thin air. But I didn’t try to hide it this time. My hands balled into fists, and Zelda’s face appeared in my mind instantly. I didn’t try to question why, for I already knew the answer. “No,” I said. There was power in my voice, none that I had ever felt before. “No, you won’t. You’ve already taken so much from me, and you won’t take anymore. I won’t let you!” Ganondorf was taken aback by my tone. I looked at him dead in the eye, through his soul, and realized he didn’t have one. He had no heart, no mind, no spirit, no soul. He was the equivalent of a walking corpse; mindless, heartless, and dead inside. That was good. Because I wouldn’t feel so bad about k*lling him. I decided to tell the truth. “I didn’t come here to k*ll you, Ganondorf,” I said smoothly, losing all emotion in my voice as I felt my heart turn to stone, "I came here to destroy you.” ☾ ──────── ➷ ───────» ✧ /!\ P0L1CY ᵐʸ ʷʳⁱᵗⁱⁿᵍ ⁱˢ ⁿᵒᵗ ᵗᵒ ᵇᵉ ᵘˢᵉᵈ ᵒʳ ˢᵗᵒˡᵉⁿ ᵇʸ ᵃⁿʸᵒⁿᵉ ʷⁱᵗʰᵒᵘᵗ ᵖᵉʳᵐⁱˢˢⁱᵒⁿ. ⁱᶠ ᴵ ᶠⁱⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵃᵗ ᵃⁿʸᵒⁿᵉ ᵃᵗ ᵃˡˡ ʰᵃˢ ᵇᵉᵉⁿ ᵘˢⁱⁿᵍ ᵐʸ ʷʳⁱᵗⁱⁿᵍ ⁱⁿ ᵃⁿʸʷᵃʸ ʷⁱᵗʰᵒᵘᵗ ᵖʳᵒᵖᵉʳ ᶜʳᵉᵈⁱᵗ, ᴵ ʷⁱˡˡ ⁿᵒᵗ ʰᵉˢⁱᵗᵃᵗᵉ ᵗᵒ ʳᵉᵖᵒʳᵗ ʸᵒᵘ. ᵗʰᵃⁿᵏˢ ᶠᵒʳ ᵘⁿᵈᵉʳˢᵗᵃⁿᵈⁱⁿᵍ! ✉ credits┇ ₍ᐢ⑅ ̥ ̮ ̥ᐢ₎ music ☁ descr ☁ me, @--peace- thumb ☁ me desc font ☁ me ☾ ──────── ➷ ───────» ✧ ⌗ ☄ tags┇ignore ༘° #sneakyWulf2811 #tloz #the #legend #of #zelda #fanfic #fanfiction #chapter #65
