~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Bakugou POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The nerd just stood there, staring up at me with those d@mn green eyes, waiting for me to blast him. He looked so pathetic, holding his breath like he was bracing for a hit. It pissed me off. It pissed me off that he thought I was avoiding him because he was "too much." I'm the one who’s too much, I thought, my hands twitching at my sides. Too bright, too loud in my head, too damn close."I'm not avoiding you because you're annoying, Deku," I growled out, the words tearing out of my throat before I could stop them. I looked away from him, scowling at the wall because looking at his face was making my chest hurt. "I'm avoiding you because every time you walk into a room, my brain stops working. Because I can't look at you without my d@mn chest throwing a fit."I squeezed my eyes shut, my fists clenching so tight my skin stung. "You wanted to know why I'm avoiding you? It’s because of this. You do this to me, and I don't know how to make it stop." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Deku POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The silence in the hallway felt heavy enough to suffocate me. I braced myself, expecting Kacchan to yell, or to tell me to get out of his face. But when he finally spoke, his voice wasn't loud at all. It sounded rough, broken, and completely honest. I froze as his words echoed through the corridor. His brain stops working? His chest throws a fit? I stared at him, my mind spinning as I tried to process what he was saying. Kacchan was looking away from me, his jaw tight and his ears flushed dark red. Suddenly, everything clicked into place. The blushing in the kitchen, the way he slammed his plate down, the way he forced me to eat his food, and the way he had been running away from me all week. He wasn't disgusted by me. He wasn't annoyed. He was flustered."Kacchan..." I breathed, my heart doing a strange, fluttering leap. The anxiety that had been weighing me down all day vanished, replaced by a sudden, overwhelming warmth. I took a step closer, completely ignoring the internal alarms telling me to be careful. "Are you... saying you like me?"Kacchan’s head snapped back around, his eyes wide and furious, but the bright red blush on his face told me everything I needed to know.
I don't know if I should make another. . . . .
