~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Bakugou POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Later that night, the dorms finally went quiet. The extras had finally gone to their rooms, leaving me alone in the dark kitchen to clean up the rest of the pots. I slammed a dish towel down, my hands still trembling slightly. My lips still tingly. He actually kissed me. I still couldn't believe the nerve on that d@mn nerd. The kitchen door creaked open, and a small shadow slipped inside. I didn't even have to look up. "If you're here to tease me, Deku, I'll blast you out the window." "I'm not here to tease you, Kacchan," he said softly. He walked over to the counter, holding two mugs of hot cocoa. He set one down next to my hand, looking up at me through his messy curls. I looked at the mug, then at him. The flush on my face returned, but it didn't feel like the angry, defensive heat from earlier. It just felt warm. "You're annoying," I muttered, but I picked up the mug anyway. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Deku POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kacchan took a sip of the cocoa, his shoulders finally dropping from their usual tense posture. The silence between us now wasn't heavy or scary anymore; it was comfortable. "I'm sorry for startling you in the hallway earlier," I admitted quietly, leaning against the counter near him. "I just... I needed you to know that I'm not going anywhere. My feelings are real, Kacchan." Kacchan stayed quiet for a long moment, staring down into his mug. For a second, I thought he might get mad again. But then, he let out a soft, defeated sigh. He turned his head away so I couldn't see his face, but I could see the tips of his ears turning a bright, unmistakable pink."Don't apologize, nerd," he muttered, a tiny, genuine smile playing on his lips. "Just... don't make me wait so long next time."I smiled, standing happily right by his side. The distance between us was completely gone.
