Don't read if you don't like rom-coms Cyborg main character Nothing bad-not even kissing Chapter 1 She ran off to the couch as soon as she finished her chores and got onto her phone. Known as the Queen of Secrets at her school, Cassie was going to text one of her biggest secrets. The first guy who truly liked her. The others all had flirted with her because she was blond, assuming she was another dumb girl to play with. Those stupid players. Absolutely no brains. But not Adrien. He had chestnut brown hair and looked at her in a way that said he would die to make her smile. Anyways, they would text through their school account and talk about things somebody would talk about together, because they were, right? At least they had three classes together, and in LA class, they were next to each other, partners for every project. See u 2morrow, k Maria? Cassia's heart glowed with warmth whenever he used the name she told him to call her. Of course! Wouldn't miss it for the world. The next day, she walked to school with him, hand in hand, as long as there was nobody around. I wish this was the way the world worked. She thought. But she had a dark secret. One that changed everybody's minds of being her friend, the reason she had none. A cyborg investigating the past to have a better future. But Cassia didn't want to be a spy. Just a normal girl, living a plain life in the 2020s, not the 2980s as a cyborg. Chapter 2 Cassie didn't want her parents, or rather, the couple who adopted her, to know she had some guy she liked. She dated. Thankfully, school was easy for Cassie, as cyborgs literally had the searching devices, and a calculator in our brains. Math was nice, because she was right behind one of the shorter people in her school, meaning her brain could immediately process the math in seconds, LA was fun because she could talk to Adrien and get good scores, and her teacher really didn't care what was happening in her class as long as the person disrupting wasn't flunking the class. So, it was basically just talking and talking... about stuff, like siblings (I none and him three), what we want to study for in college, that sort of stuff. Nothing big. So, school was basically just fun. When she got home, she did her chores of walking her dog, Juicebox. The reason for this was because she found him at a dog park in her neighborhood, chewing on a Juice box, and her 'parents' said she could have him as a pet. If she was lucky, she would see Adrien walking his dogs, but today he had soccer practice. What a shame, Cassie thought as she put the leash on Juicebox and jogged out the door. Though he was a little guy he didn't go slow. He went as fast as he could to the park, an used the restroom in his favorite spot. Some things don't ever change, she thought, hoping that her and Adrian and her would be one of those thing. But probably not, her cyborg part told her. You're from the future, as a cyborg. You will be hate the moment he finds that out. Shut up, sensible brain, her human part argued. I know what I'm doing. I can be a double agent. Before her brain could argue more, she unleashed Juicebox and ran with him through the empty fields of the dogs park, all the time wishing that life were as simple for her as Juicebox, whose only worries were getting enough pets and attention each day. If only, she thought, along with, but then I would never... and a huge shadow jumped at her and her world turned to darkness.
Chapter 3 When she woke up, she was, thankfully, with Juicebox. "You can't be obsessing over boys and dogs, you idiot! You have a world to save, and you know what happens if you try to bring somebody else over the time border." It was my Mentor, the one who taught me how to handle my life with the robots in my brain. Or really my robot brain. "I know," I told my Mentor. We weren't allowed to even know our Mentor's name, as it was one of the rules of the Contract. "Do you though, do you? You keep thinking about what's his name and not nearly enough about what you need to do. I don't want to have to reprogram you and send you farther into the past. Please. You don't need his love. You'll get lost. Keep away from him and it will be a perfect world. Hate him, if you can. And next time will be your third try. You know what will happen if you fail that." He never held back, and I knew he won for now. "Yes sir. I will try my best to keep away from Adri-" "Hey! Don't even say his name. That ruins part of it. He will be a nobody to you." "I have no idea who you are talking about." I would be crying right now, if I could cry. But I couldn't. I didn't have any tear ducts. Juicebox barked and I blacked out again. It was 4:20, only five minutes had passed with me being gone from this place. That was when I began to wonder how Juicebox was able to come to the future with me. I had a theory, but I wasn't completely sure. It was time to get home before my 'parents' got worried. I grabby Juicebox and started sprinting to our house faster than his small little legs could dream of carrying him. It was a cyborg thing. "Cassie! We were beginning to get worried sick! Where have you been? You look like you just sprinted into the future and back." My mom had always been one if the worrying ones. Little did she know, her guess was actually pretty accurate. "Mom. I'm one minute late. I did just sprint here because I wanted to play with Juicebox outside a little. You don't need to worry so much." "I'm sorry," my mother sighed, "it's just that we were so lucky when we found you we never wanted to let go of out perfect girl." "I understand mom. Now what's for dinner?" I asked. "Your favorite, Korean barbeque." My dad told me. I didn't know I my mom had planned on that, by the look on her face, but I didn't think much if it. It wasn't uncommon in our house. After dinner, when I was in my room, supposedly reading, I was really staring at the wall, thinking about my choice. I needed to choose, whether to break up with him myself and become depressed, or never even know I his existence because I continued to love him. Even though I knew I would end the works soon because my choice, I decided on option three, disable the part that lets my Mentor see what I'm thinking and continue to live a normal life for somebody in this age, by playing with Juicebox and loving Adrien. Hope you liked it :)
