Hi there, Thanks for showing interest in my little idea. Scratchzine will (Hopefully) be a magazine all about everyone's favorite coding site for kids, Scratch. I envisage it as something that other Scratchers will be able to be part of by sending in articles, artworks, music etc. I want the mag to be high quality, with lots of color and plenty of screenshots of projects inside, as well as links to all featured projects. Articles should be all kinds of things related to Scratch. They should be interesting and informative and shouldn't be too long so people might actually read them lol. Article Length - 100 words up to 250 words (maybe?) or 600 characters up to 1500 characters. (Not final?) (See my other project about article ideas for more information) I am working on the first issue, mostly by myself, to showcase what the magazine is all about and hopefully attract some other contributors. _____________________________________________ Issue One Outline: Cover page Contents page How to use the magazine: which keys to turn pages, etc. (and don't forget about touchscreen users) ARTICLES: Intro to Scratch The different community's that make up Scratch. Art Animation Games Technical coders And other kinds of projects... At the end - an article explaining that YOU can contribute to the mag and how to do that. And any other articles that may have been submitted if anyone else gets on board early :) Take a look inside this project to see some example pages I've put together from the Art article. Thanks for taking a look, and if you know anyone else who might be interested in this, feel free to tell them about it. Cool, SZ NOTE ABOUT SUBMISSIONS Submissions will not necessarily make it into the magazine. All pieces must meet the editorial standards. To submit an article you can write it in the notes and credits of one of your projects, or make a new project all about it. Up to you. Either way, post the link here and I'll take a look. :D If you're submitting something besides an article, you can hide the content inside one of your old projects (or make a new one) and post the link here as well :D Any submissions used in Scratchzine will remain your property. In other words, you own everything you write or make. Scratchzine will just be allowed to include it (with proper credit) Screenshots and discussion about projects or studios etc are allowed to be included as per "Scratch community guidelines," section "Embrace Remix Culture" which states "When you share something on Scratch, you are giving permission to all Scratchers to use your work in their creations, too." Proper credit and links to any projects used will be included in either the mag or in the notes and credits. After all, exposing readers to cool projects, studios and other users is what Scratchzine is all about!
